I had two of these barstools which I bought a year or so ago and wanted a third to match... unfortunately, Hillsdale has changed the stool. It is not as pictured and is much lighter and cheaper. I liked the original stool which had a heavy base so that it doesn't slide around on the floor or tip over, the new stool has a cheap cone shaped base and slides around and easily tips. Also the footrest used to be welded directly to the base and now you have to screw it on so it is not as stable or strong. I'm very disappointed that the company cheaped out on this once great stool and had to return it because of the low quality and because it did not match the stools I have (which are pictured). I had also called Amazon prior to my order and they assured me that it would be just as pictured...but it wasn't ...

I love the bar stool. I use it as a stool to play my guitar. The stool is well made and very comfortable...even when I play my guitar for hours. However, the stool was missing the set of bolts and allen wrench that was to be included in the shipment (as illustrated in the assembly instructions). It meant a trip to the hardware store.

just bought 3 of these and they are perfect, they are very, very comfortable, they swivel really nice, not at all like some of the barstools that look likes stools and have the swivel on the top. These you can sit on and push on the counter and go spinning around,and around and get dizzy, just like the old soda fountain stools at the drug stores (if you can remember that). They are very heavy, feel solid, and I did add little felt pads to the bottom so they won't scratch the floor. They adjust height wise really well, but we basically need them at the fully height. I wish they went higher, but they do what they say they do. One arrived with a little bit of the paint chipped off the bottom because of shipping. I'm not going to try to pack it up, but I may ask if they can send a little bit of touch up paint. If not I can live with it. The only thing is I just bought these las week for $129, and I decided I wanted one more and today they are $159. I wish they were offered in sage or olive green. I had to get the light brown, and I may recover them just to get that color, but the fabic is really nice on them, just wish it was green. I am very impressed with the quality, it is much, much better than I thought I would get. I'm very happy with this purchase
