5.0 out of 5 stars Best Pan
The Hillware 9" Springform Pan is made of professional quality aluminum, diswasher safe. They last for years. You cannot just pour water in this or any other pan with a removable bottom. It will leak. It is not water tight. The only pans that would be considered water tight are the regular cake pans. I don't unerstand why people think they can use this type of pan to...

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality
This product was not well made for the price charged. I would have expected a heavier gauge pan to start. This is no heavier than some of my cheap pans. Unlike most spring-form pans, the bottom does not fit into a groove in the side. The side is simply turned over and there is a gap where the seam meets the bottom. Result - a leak. 2.0 out of 5 stars Poor quality, May 12, 2006

One other annoyance is that the label was adhered with glue that would not soak off or scrape off with a wooden spoon. I had to resort to a solvent to remove the residue. A lot of manufacturers are going with a type which easily rubs off, almost in a roll. If you're interested in a small cake pan, there are better choices.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sorry, January 30, 2007
For the quality of the product, it was way over priced. The pan worked fine, but if one has more time, look elsewhere for a 12 inch, thicker pan which is made better. This would be my last resort....Sorry

2.0 out of 5 stars 12 inch spring pan, October 25, 2005
The pan was functional but so cheaply made it easliy bends out of shape. A cheaply made pan compared to the similar pans I bought at the grocery store. I bought this pan because I couldn't get a 12 inch anywhere else.

As it is the only 12" spring form on the market at the time, I decided to give it a try. It works fine, the bottom seals well. Makes a 5lb+ cheesecake. The sides are a little flimsy but work just fine and conduct heat well being aluminum. I would have preferred the whole unit be manufactured out of a heavier gauge aluminum but its fine given the lack of competition.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pleased with 12" pan, March 22, 2006
I was pleased with the Hillware 12" springform pan. True that it is an aluminum pan but it was functional and easy to clean.
Didn't have a problem with it bending out of shape. White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake came out wonderfully. Used a double recipe and it was cooked all the way through.

3.0 out of 5 stars Initial impressions poor, but it works - see below, June 19, 2008

I have to be honest, I haven't used this pan yet, so I can't comment on its functionality. Just from appearances, however, it is very thin and not that sturdy. The ring doesn't form a tight fit around the base of the pan, so I'm a bit nervous that it will actually hold batter properly. Also, since I ordered this one online, I've found others in shops for half the price that seem to be much better quality. Don't waste your money on this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars DON'T BUY THIS, January 19, 2005
This is the most terrible cheesecake pan I have ever seen! I ordered it and I'm in the process of returning it. The outside does not fit properly around the base, so when you fill it with water it leaks like a freaking faucet. This is not a drip sort of a leak, this is a steady stream. I even have to pay for the shipping to send it back. I am extremely angry.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent pan, December 19, 2010
I've been using this pan for years. I've never had a bad cheesecake come out of it. It has never leaked batter out of any part. These pans are made to hold cheesecake batter, not water. If you use a water bath, which I don't, you are supposed to wrap the outside of the pan in foil. I think some of the bad reviews come from people who are just too incompetent to figure out how to use it.
