Nourishing,
By Anonymous (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Him (Paperback)
Here are some facts about what happens in this book that are far from boring and ordinary in my opinion. The Jesus character in this book suggests a set of criteria for emotional maturity and offers that we are emotional beings prior to mental, which has never been done in the history of consciousness, he metaphysically deconstructs the shadow behind faith in all religions, directly contradicts major tenets of Christianity including the idea that Yeshua died on the cross, dismisses the notion of healthy unconditional love, offers an entirely new architecture of reality and Divine Being, metaphysically reconciles the existence of a Divine Being and the Nondual in the same reality....to name a few. Yes, he drinks Corona and eats quesadillas, and sits around the pool, giving the reader some much needed breaks amidst a clever story and deep teachings.
How a reviewer could say that this book is without insight is beyond me. Of course, everyone is free to agree or disagree with what is presented, but what troubles me is that rather than simply disagree with what is offered, people either make up stuff and/or make personal attacks, which to me is just proof that their cobbled together values have been threatened in some way--which is exactly what the book warns about on page 1. I so wish people could be conscious of their own reactions enough to track this. I have read this book several times and get more out of it each time. It's a great way to ease into an introduction to the paradigm of Theohumanity, to get a feeling of what it's like, and a good, psychoemotionally transparent love story too. But please, decide for yourself, don't believe this review or any other, but I invite you to pay attention when the truth is blatantly misrepresented and wonder why someone would do that.

I loved the book. The atmosphere, the deep insight, the heartful truths. Imagine yourself being on holiday on your own and meeting someone to whom you can deeply connect and who explains to you what the world is all about. Great stuff.

Inspiring and a great story, too,

This review is from: Him (Paperback)
I enjoyed reading Him. It's spiritual and personal. I could feel the warm ocean breeze and it made me want to crack open a Corona and join the conversation between the two main characters on the beach in Puerto Vallarta. It's about life, spirituality and love.

A psychologist walks into a cantina and sees the present day incarnation of Jesus drinking a beer and eating a quesadilla...I was hooked from the beginning. In this short, thought provoking, values challenging novel by Daniel Barron I was given a living, feelable snapshot of the paradigm of Theohumanity where God, the Non-Dual, and the Personal Human can coexist without contradiction or devaluing of either.
I found this novel to be moving, funny, deep, heartful, and rich in concepts and answers to questions I have been pondering my entire life. I highly recommend Him to anyone who has felt themselves a 'seeker' and is open to whatever having been sought to perhaps being found.

What if Jesus came to earth now?,
This review is from: Him (Paperback)
In this well thought out and well written book Daniel Barron poses and answers the question, what if Jesus came to earth today? What would he look like, how would he act, would we recognize him or just pass him by? As you dive into this book you are given glimpses of how Jesus holds his teaching in our modern age, how we need to be mature in our emotional body to be able to be mature in our spiritual life. This book can be heady at times and at others it dives into the nature of our divine humanness with ease and joy.

Heart Opening,
By
This review is from: Him (Paperback)
Reading Him was as much an inner journey as an outer heart opening story. Not only did Barron bring the characters pain and love to life, but I felt how the characters path opened me to aspects of my own. Him's characters illuminated how spirituality and personal love are inseparable and accessible to everyone when you are willing to feel your inner truth and how that aligns or conflicts with the rest of your life choices. How often do we choose the more difficult and painful path because it is the most in alignment with our biggest self. It is the kind of book that you can read every year or so and unquestionably find another part of yourself revealed. If you find it provocative, it is an opportunity to ask yourself why and be willing to see something in yourself. That is the most important gift that we can receive...

I love this book!,

This review is from: Him (Paperback)
Having read Him after Enheartenment, it feels that Enheartenment gave me so much context (that I looked all my life for) and Him filled it with content. Through Him and the three days' dialogue between the psychologist and Hesh, I got a feeling-sense and experience how human and spirit go together and that there is nothing between those two except our emotional congestion and cultural/religional conditions from childhood. It shows again how critical and important it is to heal our emotional congestion first.
I felt sad reading how alone Hesh/Lucipha-el experiences life by himself, even though he has Maker. And at the same time I felt so thankful for the dharma that Hesh offered in this book: Emotional Body Enlightenment (EBE). Him not only took me on a journey, it also answered at the same time questions that I always had. I wish I could read this book for the first time again in Mexico with some Coronas!

Can you say, "Anyone want to join a Cult, please?",
By StardustAngel "Mel" (Planet Earth) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Him (Paperback)
This author is the leader of a Cult that he invented. Don't waste your time! Self-indulgent, boring, ridiculous, and pure horse manure. He thinks he's God. And that's not a euphemism.

I give this book ZERO stars. This is a poorly edited and the writer is and please let this sink in to your mind and heart, self absorbed, completely coming with an intention of creating a new religion, cult or New Age forum which he hesds himself.
I found little heart and a lot of HEAD, and EMPTY Head stuff in this book. Want to work with healing the emotional body? Great and good work is already present and happening in many fantastic ways that do not include a single headed leader who sets the rules. Check out [...], Byron Katie, the Work and let your own spirit guide you to your deepest healings. |
