I have been a wine lover for many years. I can drink quite a bit more than you average guy. It is not out of the question to drink 8-10 glasses of wine in a day. I always drink at night after work and never had any negative effects on the job as I can function fine the next day. The problem came a year ago when in a routine physical my doc did blood tests and my liver function tests showed VERY elevated levels...like over 3-4 times what they should be. I didn't pay heed much but did taper my drinking for awhile.

Time went by, I put it out of my mind and when I really did try to control my number of drinks I again went to a doctor to explore my options. I took another liver function test and they were all sky high. He asked me to reduce my drinking and return in 2 1/2 weeks to repeat the tests. I immediately researched fatty liver and started to find that this product had a lot of buzz on the internet. I ordered it priority overnight shipping and I also went to Trader Joe's and bought Milk Thistle. I took the recommended dose for the next 2 1/2 weeks and returned to get my blood tested again. My liver enzymes were all down significantly in just 2 weeks! To make it more amazing I did reduce my drinking some but was still drinking 4-6 a day. When my doctors and the nurses told me that this was something they have never seen in patients that fast when they stopped drinking. They said "I don't know what you are doing, but keep doing it!" That was enough for me. I continued to take these as well as 1000 mg of milk thistle a day since and I can not believe how much better I feel. I still struggle to moderate drinking but this product clearly made me feel better by helping my liver detoxify my system. I definitely recommend this for any reason you have to think your liver function is compromised from medications or other toxins we all put in our bodies!

With the above average experience that comes from a many year odyssey in our American medical system (Ignore Ketama, as that's only my Summer residence!) and being treated by those mostly dim witted personel in that profession, and their litany of mistakes and just plain stupid screw ups, I finally picked up Hep C. Not only was I bitter over this, but it was preventing me from continuing the ongoing treatment I was going for to begin with, because of the elevated liver enzymes my blood tests revealed, I couldn't continue my regular medications! This continued for several months, with the levels only dropping a few points every couple of months, with some dietary improvement changes. Then, they wanted me to seek out this & that specialist when I decided to see what I could try on my own first, when I ran across LIV.52, and looked into some studies on that, and more importantly, what users were saying about it. Satisfied it was worth trying, I picked up some shortly before an upcoming blood test--VERY shortly. In fact, I had 17 days until my next test,by the time I received it, and did not expect any results that soon, and figured it would take until the next test around 30 days later, if no improvements were made. I started by taking 2 caps a day, as directed, for 7 days to see if I tolerated it okay, and that was fine, so I went up to 3 caps a day, for the 10 days prior to the test. (I read where others with elevated enzymes usually took 4 caps a day, since 2 caps is really just meant as a preventative dose for those that want to maintain a normal, toxic free liver, and don't have any elevated enzyme counts to begin with, and a disease free liver.) As I said, over several months my enzyme counts dropped a few points with each consecutive blood test, yet were still VERY high on the previous test, done on 2/2/09, with an AST level of 127 (Normal range is 14 to 48), and an ALT level of 150 (Normal range is 7 to 58), so you can see they were quite high. After 2 caps per day of LIV.52, for 7 days, then, 3 caps for 10 days, I had my blood pulled on 4/6/09, about 2 months after the previous test, and my AST level was 74, and my ALT level was 90, still higher than normal, but a vast improvement as you can see. There is NOTHING else to attribute this to but the LIV.52, so I'm a believer. Now, I'm back on my regular treatment path, and my next blood test won't be for 5 months, and I'll continue on the LIV.52, and I'll try to remember to update this with those results, which I hope and expect will be much better still, and quite possibly within the normal range. This was all my doing, and the bottom line is that you can ONLY count on yourself for what's right for you. Don't get me wrong, as a whole, the medical profession has made great strides, and there are some personel doing great things, but any 'discoveries' are huge team efforts usually, after years of research and millions or billions of dollars spent, and the great doctors & surgeons you hear of are few and far between, leaving most no more competent than your average moron, or worse. Still don't believe me? Well, believe this: The forth leading cause of death in the United States is from medical mistakes. Yes, you heard it right, look it up, then, say they aren't "morons"! I believe the last count has it at 249 people a day, dead from medical "MISTAKES", think about it, then, take care of yourself, you'll live longer. And, if you have high liver enzymes, LIV.52 works, it's not one of the many worthless herbal preps out there. Plus, it's pretty cheap, and through Amazon, I got it pretty fast too, just about a week I think.

I have tinnitus (hissing in both ears, 24/7). I developed it on January 10, 1988. I have found that drinking a lot (not to the point of falling down drunk) helps me cope with my tinnitus. I started taking Liv-52 (now known as Liver Care) around 2000 when I found positive reviews about the product at different sites...some medical. I take 4 pills a day, 2 before lunch and 2 before dinner. My liver function has been monitored ever since 2000 when I told my internist that I have to drink substantially to help me live the highest quality life one can have with tinnitus. He has consistently monitored my liver enzymes since then, 3 times a year at normally spaced 4-month intervals, along with HDL, LDL, total cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

My liver enzymes are normal and have been since then. This product REALLY works...and if you have tinnitus and need to drink to minimize its annoyance, I would recommend Liver Care (Liv-52) enthusiastically.

I am a retired college professor from SUNY and what I have written here is the bona-fide truth.

About 1 1/2 years ago my AST/ALT liver enzymes started to go up, probably due to cholesterol medication. I began Liv 52 and within a couple of months the enzymes decreased considerably. As of last check they are still somewhat elevated but much lower. Time will tell what the long term benefits will be.

I purchased this for my boyfriend. Every time he ate anything dairy he got very ill. Since taking Liv.52 he is able to enjoy dairy with no ill effects!

My liver functions have not returned to normal, but I've continued taking these in hopes they are helping my liver break things down easier/better. One thing to note is that my GGT is what is consistently elevated, not all LFTs. May help regulate other LFTs than just the GGT. The capsules themselves are good quality and do not have a bad taste. I figure it can't hurt to offer my liver some help. I will buy them again. **Editing 2/20/10 - My LFTs have returned to normal, still on the high side for the normal range, but my first normal reading in 6 years. I have been taking LiverCare/Liv52 again for a few months along with milk thistle before my blood tests this month. Not sure if it has impacted them, but overall I'm happy to help my liver so I'll continue to take these.

Good supplement. I have fatty liver disease and this product helped lower my liver enzymes alot!

My liver enzymes were going through the roof. There appeared to be no apparrent reason for this. Being a R.N. I knew that this was a serious situation. My doctor at a university hospital had no plan of care other than to moniter the problem. I had already had an MRI and other tests. After taking Liv52 for one week my tests results were starting to show normal levels. After three months my liver enzymes were way into the normal range. The best thing is there were no side effects. This product was a miracle.

This item is quite popular in India and is a good source of liver protection, Its encouraging to note that westerners have taken onto this. but there are a few things you must be aware of

1. This is not an instant cure or even a cure for that matter, don't be disappointed if you do not get quick time results, this takes time.

2. Continuing your lifestyle of alcohol and red meat and hoping this would act as a protection will completely reduce this to a placebo effect. You must not have alcohol and no red meat for the course of these tablets (knowing that most westerners cannot live on a vegetarian diet, i recommend you stick with fish and at best chicken). You must eat at least one fruit a day or a glass of fresh juice in lieu thereof, preferably for a month following the course of these tablets.

If you do these , the enzymes level will naturally come down which will be well aided by these capsules.
