Hindemith's chamber music gets better when you listen to it often enough to appreciate the craft, and of course it gets best when you have played it, or some of it. I can't imagine why the tuba-player who reviewed this disk gave it only four stars. The performances are impeccable, and the technical recording qualities are excellent.
