Wealthy Lata I. Prasad refuses to obey her widower father's instructions to get married to equally wealthy Rajan, the second son of Sikanker Lal Thakkar, her dad's business partner. She runs away from home, and shortly thereafter her father locates her living with a truck-driver, Vishwa Pratap, and his pretty sister, Lakshmi. She refuses to return home, and insists on marrying Vishwa. She will soon regret her decision when she finds out that Vishwa has been arrested for killing a male named Billa, and may either spend his life behind bars or be hanged.

About the Actor

Mithun Chakraborty graduated from Scottish Church College, Calcutta. He later on graduated from the Film and Television Institute of India. In 1976, he made his film debut in the Mrinal Sen directed film Mrigaya for which he won the coveted National Film Award for Best Actor. Mithun is married to actress Yogita Bali and has four children- three sons and one daughter. His eldest son, Mimoh Chakraborty is an upcoming actor whose debut film was launched in 2008.

In 1982, his musical film Disco Dancer was a huge success due to its hit music and remains a cult favourite to this day. Gunda and other musical films such as Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki (1984) and Dance Dance (1987) showcased him as a talented dancer. He also won the Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award for his performance in the 1990 film Agneeppath and the Filmfare Best Villain Award for his performance in Jallad. Apart from these, he was praised for his performances in films like Pyaar Ka Mandir (1988) and Mujrim (1989).

He was the highest taxpayer in the country for five consecutive years, from 1994 to 1999. Mithun Chakraborty has also been quietly promoting Football in his native Bengal.

In 2005, he come back to the mainstream film Hindi film industry with the film Elaan which was not successful. After a few supporting roles in films such as Lucky: No Time for Love, he won acclaim for his performance in Kalpana Lajmis ""Chingari"". Guru was the first film of his to be commercially successful since his comeback. Mithun Chakraborty can be said to have worked in over 200 Indian films. Apart from Hindi, he has also worked in some Bengali and Bhojpuri movies.

this movie is very good, a must see for any mithun fan it also stars sridevi,kader khan and shakti kapoor all the songs are very good this movie is a 5 star movie
