4.0 out of 5 stars Hindsight: Boris Vallejo--His Photographic Art, June 16, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Hindsight: Boris Vallejo-- His Photographic Art (Paperback)
I have always been a fan of Boris and his methods of coming up with a painting. But what has really interested me in his work is his portrail of the human body. Now that I have seen his book and witnessed his love for the human form, I see why his paintings look so real. The models he uses are believeable in the poses they do. I recomend it to people who have a love for the human form and also a love for Boris' work. It is also good for practing drawing the human form as I have used it for so many practice sessions.

4.0 out of 5 stars nice behinds, May 3, 2000

This book is good for all those guys who are obsessed with a female's behind. Boris Vallejo has a lot of creative erotic art. This has to be one of his best works yet.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Butts, September 16, 2004
This review is from: Hindsight: Boris Vallejo-- His Photographic Art (Paperback)
If you admire a good rear end, like myself, this book is keeper. Boris Vallejo walks that fine line between Art and Porn very well. Some of the pics are not as main stream(as I prefer), but they get your attention! Bottoms UP !

I have been a huge fan of Boris V since I saw his first picutre on the books of Gor. I saw this book in the bookstore years ago and wanted it but never had the money. I love this book. It show what I feel is the most beautiful part of the woman's body, the hind end. It's a great book. The pictures are full frame and are nice to see and admire. I feel it is worth ever penny.

4.0 out of 5 stars Majestic muscle, November 18, 2007
This review is from: Hindsight: Boris Vallejo-- His Photographic Art (Paperback)
It's no secret that Vallejo is passionate about powerful figures, men's and women's both. And it's no surprise that he's fascinated by that largest of muscles, the gluteals, especially when part of a full and womanly hip.

Models appear singly. Most shots have simple studio backgrounds, and most are fully nude. A few pictures are in color, a few have some kind of clothing that decorates rather than hiding, and a very few show the model fully (if snugly) clothed. Some of the models appear with props that suggest a study for Vallejo's famous fantasy painting. And all but one or two are faceless. These images praise the model's bottom, and present only enough of the rest of her to define its context.

Seeing all of these beautiful photos together brings something extra to the collection, a sense of just how varied and expressive this humble curve can be. Some models flex themselves, to demonstrate their pure muscular power. Others relax into forms that suggest warm sensuality. Many poses would never occur in normal life (like that one on the cover), but exaggerate the womanly curves and create dramatic bodyscapes.

I would have liked to know a name for each model - just something remind the reader of the woman behind the behind, and to help in recognizing each model in the various ways she presents herself. Boris is wholly visual, though. Only the frozen image matters, not the person in it or the other images around it. Still, it's easy to enjoy this tribute to one under-appreciated aspect of women's beauty.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice. But so is diversity, May 9, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Hindsight: Boris Vallejo-- His Photographic Art (Paperback)
This is a very good book with great pictures, the only reason it didn't get 5 stars was because there was no obese, skinny, or male "hindsights". If it was truly a pictorial of "hindsights" it would have more diversity in it. The pictures that are in it are of perfectly formed bums, which is good, but so is diversity.
