Maryanne is amazing. She has the ability to share hard core, real-life lessons combined with her hysterical sense of humor and the ability to entertain through storytelling. While this book is self-help, you will feel simultaneously like you are reading a juicy, can't-put-down, novel. At the same time, it will be like looking into a mirror, one in which you lovingly can see what you have been doing in the realm of relationships that, well, hasn't been working so well--and she provides immediate skills for what to do right.
This book is SO important and a huge step forward in stopping the insanity of today's dating patterns. NOW is the time to take responsibility for your love life....a little HINDSIGHT can go a long way!

I received your book on Monday in preparation for an interview for your guest appearance on a Radio show Hosted by Cindi-Sansone Braff, Grant Me a Higher Love. I have read so many books in the last year on my quest to try and figure out , why my relationships don't seem to work. Or "why" I keep picking Mr. Wrong! When I began to read your introduction I seemed to find that I am not the "ONLY ONE" who had lived a life in turmoil, based on "old programing" "All Men just want one thing" etc. It's funny when you think your life is so different from the rest of the world, only to find out it's not really that uncommon! This book made me Laugh, and Cry, but most of all has inspired me to look ahead, and create a better me. I liked your analogy about "falling into a hole". I has given me insight to the fact that I don't have to beat myself up over poor choices, just recognize them and gain perpective!
I did do all the required "homework" or exercises in this book, and for the first time, I was able to SEE them materially on paper! It makes sense! I have lists, hung up everywhere!
ANd who would have thought to ask THOSE questions before getting involved with someone! Like I said I have read 100's books pertaining to the Law of Attraction and LOVE,searching for THE ANSWERS. BUT, I must say MaryAnne, your book is the one that will change me and my life for the better, and has helped me SEE, that I have to learn to REALLY love myself! It is a hard, cold look at a few relationship stories that really made me THINK!!!
This book is not only for Women but a must read for MEN as well! Very informative and helpful. The Tools in this book are BENIFICIAL, before you enter any relationship. The learning and recognizing, from past relationships and self defeating patterns and behaviors, is CRUCIAL. Gives me HOPE for what I beleive will be, in the future, a happy healthy relationship, starting with ME! Thank - YOU!

I had the opportunity to participate in one of Maryanne's workshop "Find the man, get the man, keep the man" in 2007. During this workshop what I found was that it wasn't about "the man" at all. As I completed the workshop, in hindsight what I discovered, was that it was about finding, getting and keeping "myself."
Equipped with the necessary tools (or so I thought!) and reentering the dating scene, I felt I was good to go! However, during the process, not only did I fall asleep, but found myself ignoring and disregarding everything I had learned and not just falling, but "diving" into any available pot hole. Not only had the tool belt I had so tightly fastened on my waist start sliding, but well.....the undergarments lost their elasticity too!
Fast forward....After much heartache, mostly for not seeing the red flags or really listening (or hearing) my internal instincts, I felt it was time to revisit my techniques (or lack thereof) and read "Hindsight." The stories were riveting and I found myself breathless as I read, unable to disconnect from my own past experiences, hungry to read more. After finishing the book the most important insight was reclaiming (and wearing) my tool belt (tightly) and prioritizing how to value myself as a woman and respect all that I am.
Maryanne is a brilliant writer and will keep you captivated and enthralled, to the point of no return. Forget that you may have other things to do. It was eye-opening and refreshing remembering how to be accountable for my own actions and decisions again! Her humor, compassion and grace in which she shares her stories and sensibility will definitely make you wake up and keep you focused on what really matters...Putting yourself first and not feeling guilty...Only remembering that YOU must love YOU before anyone else will.
This book isn't just for women. Rather, it is for everyone who wants to reclaim their own voice.... Oh.... and avoid the potholes!

I started thinking of myself as a "Serial Monogamist", having not been single for the last 14 years. This book opened my eyes. It made me aware of how I have been in all of my relationships thus far and made me realize that I did not have to continue with the same patterns. I feel so much more positive about myself as a strong and beautiful woman. Maryanne shared very personal stories which I connected to and learned from. It was about personal reflection and change/growth which everyone needs to do. We all need a little insight, we all need to "wake up" as Maryanne continually addresses throughout the book. We all need to understand that we are very special and need to think of ourselves in that way which may change the decisions that we make. It was a very useful tool for me personally and I recommend it highly to others.
