Book Description

December 12, 2009
Frazer Hines is one of the UK's most charismatic stars of stage and screen. From his early days as a child actor in films such as X The Unknown, and appearances in Emergency Ward 10 and Coronation Street, Frazer became a household name playing the time-travelling Scot, Jamie McCrimmon, alongside Patrick Troughton in the BBC's cult series Doctor Who. In 1972 he was cast as Joe Sugden in the fledgeling soap opera Emmerdale Farm, and became the housewife's favourite farmer for over two decades. In this compelling and funny book, Frazer reveals his own thoughts and feelings when faced with stardom at an early age, the pressure of being an early 'media celebrity', his love of horses and cricket, and what it was actually like to date, marry and divorce some of the most eligible and beautiful women to have crossed stage and screen in the last 40 years.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fine and recommended read for those looking into British television, March 10, 2010
This review is from: Hines Sight (Hardcover)
The British love their icons of television just as much as the Americans love theirs. "Hines Sight: The Life and Loves of One Britain's Favourite Sons" is a memoir of Frazer Hines, star of television in countless British sitcoms and television shows, as he reflects on his television career and becoming an early television celebrity when the television began to take hold in the United Kingdom. "Hines Sight" is a fine and recommended read for those looking into British television.

5.0 out of 5 stars A True Shining Star, March 12, 2010
This review is from: Hines Sight (Hardcover)
When someone mentions the name Frazer Hines, most will remember him as Jamie McCrimmon from Doctor Who but he is much more than that.

In his new book, Hines Sight: The Life and Loves of One of Britain's Favourite Sons, you will read stories from his early years as a child actor to being Jamie McCrimmon to Emmerdale Farms and beyond. Instead of just quoting facts, he talks about what really went on and does it in a way that is light hearted but also serious. Be it about his childhood, his relationships with women or his love of horses and cricket.

The book is very well writen and is a must for anyone who is interested in reading about one of Britain's true shining stars.
