Out of Nowhere, Into Your Head, December 15, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Hint of Mess (Audio CD)
Where did Andrew Dorff come from? Well, from out of nowhere comes, 'Hint of Mess,' a classic off the wall albumn for those who refuse too settle for the norm. Possessing a voice you either love or hate, Andrew carries on the tradition of solid songwriting, including both lyrically and musically, set down before him. If you're not captivated within the first 30seconds of this album then it's not for you. If you like this CD check out some works by Tom Waits, Nick Cave, The Chills and Custard.

Original...almost to a fault., October 10, 1998
By A Customer

This guy is not your average Matchbox 20 rock star. He sings really cool rocks songs, but his voice is very different...you can't describe it. It's not bad, but not usual. He can sing hard rock or sentimental songs, pretty good. Buy it, unless you don't buy anything but the normal rock.

This is for sure my best album of the year 97, I saw the guy live in Belgium during a festival, and he gave us the best music I had heard in a long time. You really have to see him if you have the opportunity, and anyway, buy this cd.

Eclectic music that grows on you like a mad fungus, March 6, 1999

I first saw Andrew Dorff singing in a small club in LA. I thought his songs were a bit ragged, but the lyrics and music were good. Then I listened to the CD and began to appreciate the songs more. Subsequent listening has now made it one of my favorite CDs. If you are looking for something new and different, check out this quirky CD.
