This is a good video but you need to be able to have a groove and i'm 12 and it was not the easiest thing, i don't think anyone under 10 could do it very easily. Other than that it's so far a great video. My friend and I didn't want to stop dancing when we started it. It's a good value but dont get it for a 5 year old even though it say ages 5-12. people over can do it fine and i think younger than 8 or so not at all. maybe but in my opinion no. that's what i think but other wise it's a GREAT VIDEO

I got this video for my 5 1/2 yr old to begin to get some experience in "party" dancing. The moves are very easy to follow. She loves the video, as does her younger 3 1/2 yr old sister. They have watched it 5 or 6 times now and still love it. While the oldest is not a master of the moves yet, it is exactly what I was looking for. It is a video that introduces her to some dance steps, while encouraging her to create her own. It allows her to have fun (not sit in front of the TV) and learn some dance moves at the same time. I would expect that if she continues to watch the video that it would help her get some confidence and be able to dance. Although the video is not necessarily for 5 year olds, she is able to "try" the moves and should be able to get them down after practicing. I think this video has "staying power" -- they will use it for a few years.

I would recommend this for someone looking for a basic dance video. It is good for 5 year olds on up to early teens. (My husband and I were even trying out some moves!) Keep in mind it is hip hop, not the waltz. It is good for kids learning to dance with other kids. And I agree with another reviewer, I was pleased that it is not too racy for childen -- it is in quite good taste.

After they get the moves down, I will try the Hip Hop Shop 2.

We just got the DVD about a week ago and my kids love it! My boys love videos and dancing and this was perfect for them. They are 10 and 5 and both were able to do all the steps after the first 2 viewings. My 2 year old daughter even gets up and does some of the easier moves with them!!! FUN, EASY and GREAT EXERCISE!!! I've done the tape with them and it's an awesome workout that the whole family can have fun doing together! Much better than sitting in front of the T.V. or playing video games all day!!! :)))

This is a great dance VHS or DVD for kids that want to learn some updated dance moves. The format is NOT boring. The music is "clean" and the presentation is very upbeat and fun! My 10 yr. old and her friends LOVE this video!!! I highly recommend this video as a very good buy!

Just saw this video and my kids LOVED it. I liked the idea of
having kids in the video. Sometimes kids are overwhelmed by adults teaching them. Watching kids like themselves dance really helped them. The cover was very eye catching, the blonde girl on the cover looked like the girl next door, very appealing to my kids. We loved the street scenes the best. Some of the indoor stuff was monotonous, and they got a little bored, but the outside scenes were terrific! Great learning video!

Ok, I just want to say that me and my whole family are fanatics about the movie. I am 12 and i have 7 brothers and sisters and we watch it every night as a work out video. My whole family also created a dance routine for my whole school. And then again, my whole school loved it. Even my principle loved it. We had to teach it to him. But anyway i loved the kikds, they seemed to real and how they did not know how to dance before but learned really gave me hope. (I want to be a hip hop star, and i have eactually gotten a few calls for people who want to learn and put me in a hip hop video, but i said no becqause nothing is better then Hip Hop Shop) And then the teachers were great and energetic and fun. I also thought that they were all great dancers and the music was good. I loved it. And anyone who knows any one in it need to get my an autograph. I also think the producers were genious and great. All in All I loved it more than you know and i sugest it to anyone who just wants to learn have fun and get a great work out. : )

Received this video just a few days ago. It's easy to follow instructions are just what was needed for this age group. The mixture of dancing and instruction holds the children's attention and they want to watch it (and dance with it) over and over. Excellent choice!

I really liked this video because it was fun to dance along with the kids in it. They are really learning cool hard dance moves but not too hard. I liked that the kids in it start out not knowing how to dance and then they learn. They all run outside and dance in the street thich is at the end and they're all good dancers That was my favorite part.
Oh and there's cool cartoons in it where the dancers are like video games. Some of the cartoons name the steps. Its really fun well, if you like dancing and music.

This got my 5-yr old nephew up and dancing when another vid didn't. Decent instruction, I thought. Was worried that it might be too racy/inappropriate for his dad's taste, but seemed fine. Happy with the purchase.

My son and daughter related to the young dancers in the video, especially the older red haired one on the left of the presentation. She was absolutely fantastic, my kids are still talking about her today! and copy every move she makes. The video is a jewel!!, Thanks for putting a great video on the market for todays young dancers.
