5.0 out of 5 stars El mejor libro de ADHD para hispanohablantes
Simplemente, Russell Barklay he conducido mas estudios de ADHD en ninos y adultos que alguien en el mundo. Muy practical, informativa y interesante. Si va a leer solamante un libro sobre el problema de ADHD, esto es el uno a comprar.

1.0 out of 5 stars A Book for Believers
This book is a guide for believers of the ADHD Myth. The author offers no proof of a physical etiology for ADHD. Its 294 pages are centered on pushing aggressively the marketing of deleterious psychotropic drugs as the only valid treatment for an illness for which he admits there is no way to prove scientifically. There is a whole chapter on medication and the rest of the...

The price was great and the free shipping a plus. This is a great book to have since it helps to deal with

ADD and ADDH. It is great for the parents of Hispanic children that their fist language is not English. I recommended because its easy to understand and does not have all the big medical terms.

Thanks

Hector

1.0 out of 5 stars A Book for Believers, December 9, 2009
This review is from: Hiperactivo, Impulsivo, Distraido Me conoces?, Segunda edicion: Guia acerca del deficit atencional para padres, maestros y profesionales (Spanish Edition) (Paperback)
There is a whole chapter on medication and the rest of the book is based on suggestions that have the purpose of submitting children to a disfunctional school system by training the child like some people train their pets. This makes a perfect citizen for a Nazi environment but has nothing to do with your childs health and wealth. Parents would need to be brainwashed in order to become believers and look at there child's behavior as a diseased trait. Because of misleading "experts" normal children are put on pediatric cocaine drugs like Ritalin, without having a brain examination that would confirm and justify poisoning the most important part of the human body. The author quotes Dr. Volkow yet he doesn't mention that after studying Ritalin vs. cocaine she reached the conclusion that Ritalin works in children like cocaine works in adults, whether the child is diagnose or not. His view of children is one that misses the fact that compulsory schools are from Prussian origin and children in these environments are suppose to act like adults. The ADHD list of symptoms are subjective and so ambiguous that any child can be framed into the big business off psych drugs. It is a misleading book because it withholds facts that are necessary in order to reach an informed consent. But informed consent would be an oxymoron since parents would know ADHD is a medical fable and that would mean the end of the ADHD fad. It is offensive to children. It's pretty simple. You would not put your child on Chemotherapy unless you had objective evidence that he has cancer. The author ignores all the evidence of the side effects, suicide being one that would end ADHD for your child...and your child. That is a FACT. Be informed and protect your child.

This was the first book I received as a present regarding ADHD, excellent guide to get to know what ADHD is and how to handle it. Easy reading, very well organized and extremely helpful. I also bought extra copies for school teachers and friends who also had kids with ADHD.
