5.0 out of 5 stars BigIndieMusic.com's Record of the Year..., March 14, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Hiphopunkfunkmamboska (Audio CD)
The disk "Hiphoppunkfunkmamboska" caused a spontaneous dance party in my living room. Great fun. Funky, caboose-shaking beats, cool horn lines, funny raps...what's not to like.
The band was created by a bunch of film students who obviously don't take themselves too seriously. I don't really have any criticism, as this disk is obviously meant as party fuel and it delivers. It's just good clean funky fun. I don't see where the punk fits in...see I can always find something to criticize! Of all the disks I've reviewed for Big Indie, this one has gotten the most repeat listening.
My favorite track is "Hambo." This tune makes me want to dance like a freak out on the floor. I'd love to see P.I.C. live. Hopefully there will be more music from these guys soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars p.i.c - the next supergroup, October 25, 2002

these cats are good. picked up the cd cuz i heard them on Premium Blend (a show on Comedy Central) and the album does not disappoint! hip hoppers come in all shapes and sizes these days, but p.i.c can really play instruments and rhyme. couldn't believe the mc is also a trumpet player.

This CD is incredible. I really suggest a full listen of the CD - the downloads don't do it justice!

This CD is awesome! Hiphopfunkpunkmambosak is definitely the next evolution of music. This has everything. I can listen to this making a PB&J, studying English or just hanging out.

I highly recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars HIPHOPPUNKFUNKMAMBOSKA, June 13, 2000

P.I.C. has managed to fit every type of music I love into one tight sound. To put it simply, it is like the Beastie Boys meets de la Soul and Bad Religion with a mambo beat and horns. With crazy lyrics and great hooks, this CD is definately one to get down to. Track 3 (Hambo) is a great example of the way the genres blend so smoothly. Check it out!

PIC is a pretty good band. I've seen them on Premium Blend before and thought I'd check them out. They sound kinda of like Filibuster with more hip hop to it. They're pretty good and are definately worth checking out.

Saw these guys for a taping of this show on Comedy Central called Premium Blend. They were the house band, and got me so hyped that I just had to buy their CD!

If you like musical fusion you should check this album out (the title says it all). P.I.C manages to fuse the entire spectrum into this album. The only reason it's not a 5 is that it's too much for my delicate mind to handle in one sitting.

4.0 out of 5 stars my review, June 13, 2000

i think that this c.d. is apropriate for the age groups of atleast 15 years of age or older. because of how explicit the lyrics are but the c.d. is very good. although they are not very well known i would recommend this c.d. to my friends.
