Surprisingly good,

I bought this CD for a party where there was going to be a lot of swing dancing, not expecting much from it. However, it turned out to be full of great bands and great songs. I've already bought the Cd's from a couple of these bands. The whole CD is very lindyable. It has a good mix of slow, medium and fast stuff. It's also good just to listen to. My personal favorites were Bellevue Cadillac's Cuppa Joe, Indigo Light's Red Light and Big Time Operator's great rendition of a Dean Martin fave, Ain't That a Kick in the Head.

The original Hipsters, Zoots, and Wingtips CD contained original recordings by original artists from the 1940s and 1950s. This third volume is entirely modern bands of the 1990s, imitating the early music with a glibness and slickness that I found quite irritating. The simplicity and sincerity of the early recordings has been replaced with a smug modern sensibility. If you love early swing and R&B, you may find this CD offensive. I found it unlistenable.
