5.0 out of 5 stars Who knew that...? November 17, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
An amusing and relaxed read, showcasing several lesser-known Hollywood jobs, the people who work in them, and how they got where they are. Basic on-set vocab is included at the beginning of each interview, the relevant words are italicised along the way (just in case you forget that the word is defined for you) and the low-key style of the interviews rings through clearly.

And who knew that Carol Ann Susi (who plays Howard Wolowitz's mother on The Big Bang Theory) is so pretty??? Not to mention amusing - as she says, "if you weigh 5lbs more than Nicole Kidman, you're a character actress not a star".

5.0 out of 5 stars The essential blend: courage, creativity, and action December 11, 2011
Format:Paperback
Hire Me Hollywood shares the essential blend -- courage, creativity, and action -- from the mouths of individuals with dreams of fire who made it in Hollywood and the greater entertainment industry. This collection of compelling, remarkably well written interviews brings each to life--chatting with you, advising you, warning you, and at times even pushing you--all to help you get off your "but they may reject me" ass and push the launch button. Yes, this enjoyable glimpse at the struggles and hurdles overcome by an excellent clutch of the industry's best reveals a common thread in all who live and breath to create: the passion to share that creativity with the world. As I read, each story reminds me that you can always break the rules when there are no rules, only legends of expectations. They also reminded me of Linda. Yes, Linda. When I was a high school senior I met a beautiful, wonderful girl named Linda. So wonderful, in fact, that I couldn't stop thinking and talking about her. All day, every day. But I didn't have the guts to call and ask for a date. Finally my dad said "Well why don't you just call and ask her out?" I explained she was so lovely, so terrific, she may turn me down. Dad smiled, even chuckled, then replied "Well you can't lose, you'll either win or break even--so call her!" The reasoning was perfect: the only way I could "lose" would be if I didn't take the chance and call her. I called, she was happy I did, and away we go. If you want to launch your creative career, read Hire Me Hollywood. I believe it will inspire you to get off your ass, chuck your fear and doubt, make plans, follow through == and call your Hollywood Linda.
