If you're looking for a job, looking to change your present job or career, or looking for a promotion or a raise or a different role within the same company, this book is better than gold. I've read a lot of these type of books, and alot of them are the same--not Get Hired NoW! I've used Frank and CJ's system, and it blows away any other advice or counseling I have ever had in finding a job. Their system and advice seems so simple, yet 99% of so-called career counselors and job search strategists don't come close to their powerful advice and practical examples. You learn to market yourself and how to fill a company's needs in a breakthrough manner that no hiring manager can resist. I should know--with their assitance, I got a 75 percent hit rate on my resumes from prospective employers and landed a dream job!! Don't waste time and money with other books, order Get Hired Now right now, and don't waste another 3 or 6 months hoping for the phone to ring!!

The average working adult will change jobs ten times over his or her lifetime. Searching for a job can be an overwhelming and often daunting task. Where do you start? How do you find that great new job? How do you stay motivated when you feel so frustrated?

That's where C.J. Hayden and Frank Traditi's best-selling book, Get Hired Now!TM (Bay Tree Publishing, 2005), gives you a complete job search system for the job seeker in any field. This book contains a twenty-eight day programme for coaching yourself to job search success. It has everything you need to strengthen your job search, make the best use of your time and energy, stay motivated in the face of rejection, and land the job you want.

I like the Book's practical and systematic approach to the process of job search, obtaining interviews, and getting hired. Its strategies, daily action items, and checklists keep the job seeker focused on reaching the objective in the shortest time and using the most effective techniques. This programme is especially effective where a coach facilitates the programme with a group of job seekers. The coach provides professional assistance in dealing with blocks and obstacles, handling challenges and brainstorming solutions, support during bad times, and celebrating with job seekers when they succeed.

Surveys estimate that seventy-four to eighty-five percent of available jobs are never ever advertised. Yet most job seekers only apply for the fifteen percent of jobs that are advertised. This creates intense competition amongst these job seekers for a limited number of advertised positions, whereas savvy job seekers are able to position themselves to choose the employers and secure the jobs they desire amongst the eighty-five percent of jobs not advertised, with no competitive pressures to worry about.

In reading through the Book, I was struck by how much the job search process resembled that of prospecting for business with potential clients. Job-hunting is approached the same as that of sales. Potential employers are treated as if they are potential clients. In one job search, a job seeker targeted six companies. He contacted all of them and called them many times until he got an interview and a job with one of them.

The Book is divided into two parts. Part One covers the Get Hired Now!TM system. This system breaks down the job search process into a series of simple steps so you will know exactly where and how to start finding a job today. It organises the steps into a proven system built around three powerful elements: effective job search approaches, an action-oriented, twenty-eight day programme, and suggestions for managing the fear, resistance, and procrastination that may hinder your job search. The programme shows you how all the pieces of the job search puzzle fit together, what to do, when to do it, and how to measure your results.

The Book goes into detail about the different job search approaches, from networking and referral building, contacting potential employers, informational interviewing, employing recruiters and agencies, searching specialises job listings, and finally using help wanted advertisements.

Part Two of the book contains instructions for preparing your chosen success ingredients, as well as job search "recipes" to help you apply the approaches specified in your action plan. This part elaborates on the job search pyramid, starting from knowing what you want, finding opportunities and contacts, applying to employers, getting interviews, and landing the job.

I was fortunate enough to receive an advance copy of this book, and have been raving about it ever since. I've seen many "how to" job books, but this one is the most concise, step by step guides to finding a good job i've yet seen.
If a job-seeker gives this book a read, and devotes 28 days to an honest attempt to do the exercises and stick to the program, I feel certain they will have a leg up on the competition, and will reap huge rewards in terms of landing a better, higher paying job. I think this book can prove especially helpful to recent graduates. It is a vertable gold mine of useful, hands on advice on finding suitable employment. As one who has had many jobs, moved to new cities, changed careers, etc., I wish I had a resource like this at my disposal. I would have avoided many pitfalls and mis-steps along the way. In fact, this book is a great resource merely by what it tells you NOT to do in your job search.
If you are looking for employment, know someone who is looking, get this book, and follow the step by step approach. You'll spend 30-40 yers working, why not invest 30 days to maximixe your potential earning power?
