Editorial Reviews

From the Author

This was such a fun book to write because I love anything to do with dogs and puppies and this story has it all. Plus the hero, Liam, is flawed...in his soul...and has to battle against such odds. And the heroine, Sadie, is my kind of girl. She doesn't take any guff from anyone! Problem is - a girl can't go through life hating men when she has such a big tender heart.

From the Back Cover

Without the angel forcing him to brake, Liam could have killed the gorgeous girl who ran in front of his car to save a little boy. He owed the rescuer big time and would pay his debt no matter that she acted cranky and became more difficult with every meeting. After all, how hard could it be to walk a bunch of mangy mutts?

Men are scum and no one can tell Sadie any different. It's why she stays away from them. Until a crazy, hotshot soldier runs her down with his convertible. Now because she's bruised and sore, she's stuck having to accept his help in her elite dog-walking business. Just her luck that some of the expensive pets go missing, and Liam decides the puppy-mill rumour needs to be investigated. And once they're forced to spend more time together, mutual attraction spirals out of control.

4.0 out of 5 stars Must-Read for Dog Lovers! April 26, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
If you love tongue-in-cheek paranormal romances, you'll love this story.
We all carry baggage from our childhood. Sadie cannot forgive or forget the taunting and abuse she endured as an overweight schoolgirl. She believes all members of the male species are jerks.
Liam's childhood demons feed on the shame he feels for his parents who shared a difficult and complex relationship. Traumatic experiences as a Special Forces operative in Iraq have only worsened his state of mind. He is a haunted man, plagued by shame, guilt and insomnia.
They struggle to help each other come to terms with their ghosts, aided by an unlikely guardian angel who looks like Johnny Depp, and a motley crew of whip smart dogs.
This seemingly light-hearted romance touches on deep-seated fears and nemeses that only love and forgiveness can counteract.
You will LOVE the ending of this story. And if you are a dog person, it's a must-read.

5.0 out of 5 stars "Laugh out loud" April 27, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
His devious Angel by, Mimi Barbour

This is the type of story ereaders were made for, the kind you cannot put down. I laughed and cried and cracked up laughing. The hero wasn't an Alpha nor a beta, he was just right, which was refreshing.
The heroine was the perfect blend of the girl down the street and the women up the road. And if you own a dog you'll love this story.

If ever a book had a perfect ending this one had it.

This author will go on my "Do not miss list."

5.0 out of 5 stars Much love for Angels May 4, 2012
By Ericka

I really enjoyed reading His Devious Angel, book 2 in the Angels with Attitudes series. It had moments of suspense (which I loved), the dogs (also loved) and funny moments between Sadie and her family. This book had me surprised a couple of times, good surprises though.

Sadie was quite the leading lady. I just wanted to hug her and tell her everything is ok and tell her you should be happy with who you are. I could relate well with the things she struggled with and why she had issues with men and her body. It's so refreshing to see heroines that aren't perfect. I liked her snarky kinda attitude in the beginning.

Liam, now that's a perfect name for a hunky hero. In the beginning he seemed kinda cocky and full of his self which is the kinda guy you really don't like. Which was actually a cover up to his issues that he was dealing with come from earlier in life like Sadie's but was entirely different. But he surprised me, turned out he was a hero a couple of. It was lovely watching the two of them come together and realize that they were perfect for each other.

More About the Author

I'm an author who loves to read uplifting stories about romance. Add in some time travel, or maybe an angel, or even a little romantic suspense and it makes the story more fascinating because of the incredible possibilities.

Mimi Barbour was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, too long ago to mention the date. She lives on the beautiful East coast of Vancouver Island and writes her paranormal romances with tongue-in-cheek and a mad glint in her eye. Asked why she prefers paranormal or suspense, she answers, chuckling...

"Because it's fun! Imagination can be a lot more interesting than what happens in real life to so-called normal people. I love my characters, and my goal is to make the readers love them also. To care about what happens to them while the story unfolds. If I can steal my booklover's attention away from their every day grind, absorb them into a fantasy love story, and make them care about the ending, then I've done my job."

(In 2000, while living in Guinea, West Africa, Mimi started taking corespondence creative writing courses. Upon returning to Canada, she signed onto a four year program with the Children's Institure of Literature to work on Children's Stories. After some time and very few sales, she switched her genre to romance. Since this is what she loves to read, she decided to put her energies into writing the kinds of books she would enjoy - for others.)
