5.0 out of 5 stars This story is so good!, April 20, 2001
By A Customer
This story is so good. I've always loved stories where the guy has carried a torch for the girl for a long time. The wild things he did when they were teenagers in high school and even later on in college, then after college (presented as flashbacks) to get her attention on him were hilarious. Brianna has always had a crush on Jake's identical twin brother, but Jake wants her to see him. At first his pranks were just to irritate her, but then his motive changes. Jake doesn't realize it until later, but the reason he's always been obsessed with her is because he's always been in love with her. I love stories like this! Jake is so hot. Ooooh, he is hot and such a man! I've read this story at least 4 times and I get wrapped up in it each time. It is so good. If you can find a copy, it is worth it. The anticipation and build up to the love scenes are scorching and when the act takes place it is so satisfying. Donna Sterling always does such a good job and never disappoints. The ending is good too, and it has an epilogue, which I like. I like to visit the characters a few months or even years later to see that they're still happy and in love. Big surprise: They are!

5.0 out of 5 stars My New Favorite Harlequin, January 22, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have to say it.. I LOVE this book. I've read hundreds of Harlequin books over the years, and I rarely ever leave a review for any book, but I felt I had to for this one. OMG... I am still breathless over it.

I could recap the story here, and tell everyone how the Hero tormented the Heroine through their teens because of his boyish need for her attention. Or I could tell you how his approach years later was determined and sincere. But instead, I'd rather think of how many times my heart clenched and ached for these characters several times throughout the book. In most romance novels, you're lucky to have one moment that makes your body physically ache for the hero and heroine... But in this book, you find several of those poignant moments. I know the plot on the book sounds like the usual trite Harlequin story line, but this is one of those true gems with all the pure emotion you find when falling for your first love. I am definitely now a fan of this writer and will be looking for more of her books. I hope you do too.
