Book Description

January 1, 2008
Jesus' final words to his disciples ring down through the ages: preach the gospel to every individual and disciple every nation. Preach the gospel? Got it. But what does it mean to disciple the nations? Do I preach or teach? To individuals or groups of people? What exactly does Jesus want me to do?

Come explore these questions through Scripture, history, and the ideas and experiences of those who are actively engaged in discipling nations. You'll discover that God's kingdom comes in and through many ministries, vocations, and locations -- from university campuses to developing regions, in kitchens and boardrooms, through government, journalism, and the arts. All followers of Christ, not a select group, are needed to bring God's grace and truth to individuals, cultures, and nations today, to do the works God prepared in advance for us to do.

Jesus' words are for each of us, wherever we are and whatever God has gifted us to do. What does it look like for you, and for the body of Christ worldwide, to respond passionately and creatively to the call of God to see every person and every nation transformed?

Review

In His Kingdom Come YWAM has given the body of Christ an effective tool for fulfilling the mandate of Jesus to "disciple all nations." . . . Ever since founder Loren Cunningham envisioned the seven spheres of life that influence the values and beliefs of any nation thirty-three years ago, YWAM has been on the cutting edge of the formulation of a God-honoring approach for transformation for the nations. --Luis Bush, International Facilitator, Transform World Connections

These pages give new insight and motivation to the challenge of discipling the nations. It will give you a refreshing perspective on the totality of what God has called the church to be about. In a day when evangelized nations are collapsing from corruption and people are crying out for authenticity everywhere, this book brings us back to the mission of God to "bless the nations" and all that that involves. --Paul Eshleman, V.P., Campus Crusade for Christ

This book is filled with wisdom from the Scriptures, from men and women who have been obedient in their generation, and also includes a look at some of what God is saying and doing around the world in our day. May your faith be stirred and your wisdom increased as you consider what the Holy Spirit wants to say to you through these pages. --Loren Cunningham, Founder, Youth With A Mission

5.0 out of 5 stars An important missiology book, November 13, 2009
By
A Reader (Seattle, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: His Kingdom Come: An Integrated Approach to Discipling the Nations and Fulfilling the Great Commission (Paperback)
This impressive volume (almost 500 pages) covers a lot of ground in missiology. It is divided into six parts: (1) Introduction, (2) What the Bible Says, (3) History of Discipling Nations, (4) Philosophy of Ministry, (5) Strategy, (6) Conclusion. It would be excellent reading for pastors and missions leaders as well as MDiv students studying current perspectives on missions. All Christians would certainly benefit from reading the book; it is readable and informative and offers a broad view of how every Christian can spread the gospel and impact and shape society at large.

In a review in International Journal of Frontier Missiology, Dr. Ralph Winter of the US Center for World Missions stated, "I am very excited about this book. It is important evidence of a major organization [Youth With A Mission] turning very gradually and definitely into a nation-building kingdom type of mission, in addition, of course, to the ongoing stress on personal evangelism." Dr. Winter recommended that His Kingdom Come be used as the text book for a new missions course.
