An important missiology book,
By A Reader (Seattle, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: His Kingdom Come: An Integrated Approach to Discipling the Nations and Fulfilling the Great Commission (Paperback)
This impressive volume (almost 500 pages) covers a lot of ground in missiology. It is divided into six parts: (1) Introduction, (2) What the Bible Says, (3) History of Discipling Nations, (4) Philosophy of Ministry, (5) Strategy, (6) Conclusion. It would be excellent reading for pastors and missions leaders as well as MDiv students studying current perspectives on missions. All Christians would certainly benefit from reading the book; it is readable and informative and offers a broad view of how every Christian can spread the gospel and impact and shape society at large.
In a review in International Journal of Frontier Missiology, Dr. Ralph Winter of the US Center for World Missions stated, "I am very excited about this book. It is important evidence of a major organization [Youth With A Mission] turning very gradually and definitely into a nation-building kingdom type of mission, in addition, of course, to the ongoing stress on personal evangelism." Dr. Winter recommended that His Kingdom Come be used as the text book for a new missions course. |
