Book Description

April 1, 2007 Sherlock Holmes
About to spring out upon my appalled senses, lurked all that was vaguely horrible, all that was monstrous and inconceivably wicked in the universe'. A dense yellow fog descends upon London. Tricksters, thieves and murderers stalk their prey undetected. Lawlessness abounds but it is no match for the penetrating mind of Sherlock Holmes as he investigates the strangest of cases. A woman receives a gruesome package - two human ears in a box. A vital government secret is threatened with exposure. Miss Brenda Tregennis is found scared to death - could she really have died from fright alone? And when the stability of the country is threatend, Holmes' unrivalled talents are called upon once again ...

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Reader, August 5, 2007
This review is from: His Last Bow (Sherlock Holmes) (Paperback)
Last? No more? Bee-keeping? Humph. Anyway, His Last Bow is a story with Holmes involved in some activity of a more patriotic nature, leading up to World War One, which is of course the era that this was written in. There are several more cases here collected

The Bruce-Partington plans is a personal favorite, as again we encounter Sherlock's smarter brother, Mycroft.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good, December 20, 2008
This review is from: His Last Bow (Sherlock Holmes) (Paperback)
I'm a big Sherlock Holmes fan and have read all of his stories. This book doesn't particularly add to the Holmes legacy, but it was still good to read for us who are permanent fans of Sherlock Holmes.

5.0 out of 5 stars The particularly analytical ability Sherlock Holmes has, March 16, 2009
This review is from: His Last Bow (Sherlock Holmes) (Paperback)
I admire the particularly analytical ability Sherlock Holmes has, and often think if I can learn it. However, this time, after reading these stories so many times, I feel that I might not need to learn it to improve myself because this particularly analytical ability is used to solve the problems in the past, but I need the ability to solve my problems for my future.
