Well worth the price,

When I first heard that this band was a Christian band, I groaned. I didn't want to listen to something that was praising God throughout the entire cd, not that there's anything wrong with that--that's just not what I want to listen to. However, after putting it in my stereo, I was pleasantly surprised. More than that, I was overjoyed with my purchase. Blessthefall combines just the right amount of singing with screaming, and the lyrics are great and send a good message. Also, the instrumentality is quite impressive as well. The lead singer does some fun things with his voice, and does a great job with the vocals. This is definitely one of my favorite cds in my collection, and I strongly recommend it to anyone who likes screamo music. They're considered metal, but they're not too heavy, so heavy metal fans will most likely be disappointed.

You should be ashamed of yourself if you don't own this album and you claim like metal. I love every song on this cd. Starts hard. Ends hard. I listen to this album constantly.

One of my favorite bands ever,
This review is from: His Last Walk (MP3 Download)
I first heard of them when I read that Escape the Fate's new singer Craig Mabbitt was originally in it. I'm a huge fan of his vocals and lyrics, along with Escape the Fate and the Word Alive so I was excited to hear more of his work. Of course, I was impressed with Mabbitt's work and Higinia is one of my personal favorites of the album. It's beautiful and has the perfect balance of screaming and singing, along with the rest of the album. And as the other reviews said, it puts out Christian messages without overpowering the music with it. Well done to the entire band. This, along with their new stuff with Beau, is some of my favorite of all time. Live long, blessthefall.

This CD is one of the best about post-hardcore music... and I'm sure that will be on history.

The first album by this band, and the album with former singer Craig Mabbitt , who many miss ( Craig now is the singer for Escape The Fate, of all bands)
Ive seen this band twice in concert, and they are good live. They impressed me at Warped Tour and i even got to meet Craig. This cd is a decent first try by a new band. It has some spirtual meaning, and displays some definate potential. If they can keep playing good live and making more songs like "Higinia" and "Black Rose Dying", which were what caught my attention most of all. In "Higinia", theres a part where hes screams " You will not die" over and over and finally finnishs the last word "die" with a raised, chilling , voice that i must admit was kinda powerfull. Together with the deeper spirtual meaning contributed by the members faith in something higher than themselves, i think its commendable. They impressed me right there, and im not some enormously uptight religious person, though i try to be honest with who i am. But thats me. And "Black Rose Dying" has some honestly guinely powerfully savage screams that are authentically despret and cathartic, as the singer gasps franticly and lets out blood curdling screams. You can feel the emotion so much in it, it definatly isnt forced. And to me, that was blessthefall's hint at genius. They are very young and just starting out, and havent harnassed that brillance through out the album, but i just wanna mention that i noticed a spark of greatness. Nothing tremendous. But i saw something. Im not typing out a real thorough review becouse i dont have much time. But i think this album is worth checking out and the band is worth supporting. Hopefully things wont fall apart with Craig Mabbitts departure. This cd as a whole has a good amount of songs on it that arent extremly memorable. But its their very first album. Its good effort. You wont find great musical innovation or anything though. The songs might speak to you, they might not. Its not bad. Theres lots of room for improvement.

Bless The Fall - His Last Walk: An Experience of Substance,
This review is from: His Last Walk (Audio CD)
I actually purchased this CD for my 14-year-old daughter. She saw Bless The Fall on the welcome page on MySpace and decided to check them out. On the BTF MySpace page she listened to the music there and wanted the CD. As is often the case, Christian music can be challenging to find "on the street" so to Amazon I went to purchase His Last Walk.
Bless The Fall is a very talented band. They are my first experience with Screamo music. The song writing is very good with real substance in the lyrics. As musicians, Bless The Fall does not disappoint. The vocals range from melodic to - well, Screamo. Not sure how Craig, the lead vocalist keeps his voice, but I have heard there is a technique to this style of singing. The songs are varied so it isn't a recycled sound at all. And there is a hidden track at the end where the guys are having some fun. I am always pleased to find Christian bands whose music really stands up as well as delivers important messages. My daughter has let her friends who enjoy Screamo - both Christian and otherwise - listen to this CD, and they have all liked it. Bless The Fall is also part of the Van's Warped Tour this year. That is quite an honor. We are trying to see if we can catch the Tour in our area! Blessings to you, Bless The Fall!

Very Surprising,

I'm the type of music buyer that is willing to buy a new album even if I have heard very little to nothing about the artist I am buying for. Surprisingly, the majority of the time, I thoroughly enjoy what I buy, with very few exceptions. This album was one of those that I thoroughly enjoyed. Being a fan of a wide variety of Christian music, I try to find music outside of the "Top 40" equivalent in Christian music.
From beginning to end, I found this album very enjoyable. They are a Christian band, but they don't overfill the lyrics with Christian messages. More so, they also use their lyrics to deal with daily struggles in life and they offer strong, positive messages withou giving off the feeling of being in Church and listening to a praise band. Granted, I love worship music, but I also love music with Christian overtures, but can also be enjoyed by secular music listeners. This band does an escellent job of this. While not are hard as some metal bands or as Screamo (as one reviewer puts it; nice word choice, I like the phrase Screamo), they still have some metal influence in them. If you like the Almost, Underoath, Inhale/Exhale, and other metal bands with screaming in it, you'll love this album. Take a chance with them. You won;t be disappointed.

Better than most of the rest...,

You've heard it before from a lot of other reviewers about a lot of other bands like this one, "it's all been done before, not another 'screamo' band!, there's no originality left in this genre." While some of that may be true (the market of this type of music is getting pretty saturated), this does not mean that new bands can't come out on the scene and impress. This is one of those bands. While not necessarily bringing anything majorly original, they are very good at what they do, and write very catchy and memorable songs that stand out compared to most of the rest of the bands with this style. Musically, Blessthefall reminds me of Alesana, very up-tempo and energetic, which carries you through the song from start to finish before you know it's over. Vocal style reminds me of a cross between A Day To Remember and Vanna (not 'Curses' era, but rather around the time of 'The Search Party Never Came'). Like Alesana, Blessthefall are Christians, but this is not a praise and worship album. The lyrics can relate to anyone, and they bring a positive message, which comes from their Christian background. I am a Christian and am somehow drawn to Christian bands more than non-Christian bands. I discovered Alesana and Blessthefall and loved them before I found out they were Christian and somehow end up doing this for most of the bands I end up listening to and liking. However, if the whole 'Christin band' thing scares you off, don't worry because, like I said before, the lyrics are pretty generalized. Overall, a great band for anyone who loves this type of music and is continually looking for new bands that bring fresh talent to a genre getting pretty stale.
