5.0 out of 5 stars No One Can Define Obama - Like Obama Himself
If you just want to know where our elected next President Barack Obama stands, and has stood, on current issues as the financial crisis and on issues in the past these speeches give great insight.

Whether or not you voted for him but his speeches will clue you in to where he stands.

This excellent collection covers his speeches in 2007 and...

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
I love Obama and his speeches, but this book was a MAJOR disappointment. It is just copied with no introductions, no formatting other than the way it came (meaning, double spacing between paragraphs, no indents, microscopic print).

Very hard, some would think impossible, to read.

And ...a big "NO" to the reviewer who said each speech has a...

If you just want to know where our elected next President Barack Obama stands, and has stood, on current issues as the financial crisis and on issues in the past these speeches give great insight.

Whether or not you voted for him but his speeches will clue you in to where he stands.

This excellent collection covers his speeches in 2007 and 2008. It is 510 pages with every topic imaginable.

This is Obama in his own words. Not just quotes or sound bytes but the full text of every speech, in context. A piece of history ...

5.0 out of 5 stars Over 500 pages of Obama speeches!, November 26, 2008
This review is from: In His Own Words: Barack Obama - The American Promise: 500+ Pages. The Speeches 2007 + 2008 (Paperback)
If you are an Obama fan, you must own this book. Even though I am not a Barack supporter, his speeches are incredible. I really enjoyed reading his words and learning more about his views.

Great read for anyone who likes politics!

5.0 out of 5 stars Full of clarity and concrete suggestions, November 28, 2008
This review is from: In His Own Words: Barack Obama - The American Promise: 500+ Pages. The Speeches 2007 + 2008 (Paperback)
It is nice to have Obama's speeches of 2007-08 in one single book. His views, as ever, are so deeply thought out that they spontaneously appeal to the general readers and the man in the street. He could be the 'messiah' for redeeming American values, power, purpose, and prestige. His sincerity as revealed in his words can be well compared with that of Lincoln. He seems to be the man of the hour.

Very hard, some would think impossible, to read.

And ...a big "NO" to the reviewer who said each speech has a description of the event. It most certainly DOES NOT. It has the campaign's title of the speech, which includes the NAME of the event and the city/date.

That is NOT a "description". This isn't even good as a reference.

Plus, for (discounted) $25...I don't expect the book will have the spine printed upside down!

Empty words from a speaker who has nothing to say unless he can read it on a teleprompter. This book is shovel ready.
