5.0 out of 5 stars A lovely book, funny and everlasting.
A wonderful book that I have enjoyed since I purchased it back in the sixties. I quote the book often. The humor is priceless and will last forever. The world lost a gem, it's too bad he didn't live to write more than he did.

2.0 out of 5 stars John Lennon
This book was not what I had expected. My fault for not having read more about it.
The poems are out there a little further then I care to go anymore.
If you enjoy this off the wall poetry then you might be able to get into it. I wasn't.
Not for me at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, not just because it's John Lennon, February 16, 2007

Don't let these other reviewers scare you. You don't need to worship John Lennon to enjoy this book. Even if you don't like the Beatles, it is really great reading. In particluar, I think the poem 'Deaf Ted, Danoota, and Me' shows real talent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Twisted and wonderful as ever!, August 15, 1999

I bought this book 35 years ago for 2.50, and it is still worth every penny you will pay for it today. The humor and humanity are as barbed and poignant as I remember them, and even moreso.

Anything written by John Lennon is worth having - he was a gem. This is funny and caustic and enlightening, and will adorn any book shelf. I can also highly recommend "A Spaniard In the Works", which is my personal favourite, but hey, why not have both?

5.0 out of 5 stars John Lennon in His Own Write, December 13, 2000

I had this book when it first came out, being an avowed Beatle-maniac. His creativity inspired me to pursue writing as a career. John has his own language which will endure. The world lost his creative genius, but his words and drawings live on. A must buy for Lennon-philes everywhere.

One of the best books I read in a while. John lennon puts all his wit/humor that is his whole aura of his famous personality. I also enjoyed his little pictures though out the book. So even if your not a fan of his music you'll be a fan of his writing and maybe get to appreciate a little more by venturing in his mind a bit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Totally Original Lennon!!!, January 26, 2007
By
This review is from: In His Own Write (Hardcover)
John Lennon sparkled with creativity during his life. His musical achievements were nothing short of legendary; however, his writing talent is almost always overlooked! All three of his published books are absolutely fabulous, and this one (the first) brims with poetry and prose unlike anything ever read. I highly recommend this book to those who love fun, and to those who loved the author himself!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's a good "larf", February 8, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: In His Own Write (Hardcover)
I love The Beatles and I love nonsense so this was a perfect match. When you feel you've been thinking too much for one day this is the book to read it is just pure fun. The little short stories just make you giggle even if you're one of those people who never laughs when reading. This book also makes John Lennon seem more human since he has become this legend you get to see this silly but still genius side to him. Just a warning don't try making sense of this book it will just give you a headache just read it for kicks. To quote dear Mr.Lennon "this correction of short writty is the most wonderfoul larf I've ever ready."

This is an extraordinary publication, possibly one of the silliest things associated with John Lennon. Everyone must read this or they are depriving themselves of something magnificent.
