5.0 out of 5 stars Thank You, Desiree!
It is so refreshing to hear from someone willing to be honest and vulnerable about living with someone you love who has prostate cancer. Every Urologist and Oncologist who treats this disease should read it and refer it to their patients!

2.0 out of 5 stars For me it was shallow

2.0 out of 5 stars For me it was shallow, January 14, 2003

This review is from: His Prostate and Me: A Couple Deals with Prostate Cancer (Paperback)
I am a female and though I appreciated Ms. Howe's comments about certain aspects of prostate treatment effects, and what one could do about impotency (technically), I was overall disappointed in this book. I expected more depth/detail about the emotional and physical aspects of treatment options. As a female I wanted more information about the devastation we feel as a couple towards our sex life. I found this book to be more of a catalog of "who is who" in Cancer institutions and research facilities. To illustrate my point I got much more help and understanding from the book entitled, Adams Burden.

5.0 out of 5 stars Encouragement when you need it, February 6, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: His Prostate and Me: A Couple Deals with Prostate Cancer (Paperback)
I think this book will do a lot of good for people facing the misery that can go along with prostate cancer. Ms. Howe is upbeat, not dwelling on the devastation husbands and wives feel when their sex life is imperilled, but focusing on the hope for improvement. And she explains how that improvement can take place. A really valuable guide at a terrible time.

This review is from: His Prostate and Me: A Couple Deals with Prostate Cancer (Paperback)
Never did I expect to enjoy reading a book on such serious subject matter as prostate cancer. The fact is -- I did. This is a brilliantly written narrative, both informative and witty. His Prostate and Me is an excellent guidebook and a candid yet touching testimonial. I highly recommend it.

This review is from: His Prostate and Me: A Couple Deals with Prostate Cancer (Paperback)
This book is fantastic for survivors. On the back cover, Dr Andrew von Eschenbach, Director of the National Cancer Institute, and other experts have given this book the highest recommendation possible. I am of the same mind. rjh
