If you're a fan of her work, this definitely falls squarely within what she does. Danette is sweet and wants to have a real relationship. I really like the portrayal of the mother that you find in all of the series. Definitely a good read.

Dannette Michaels is in love with Prince Marcello Scorsolini, but his continued insistence on keeping their relationship a secret to protect her from the press, is tearing her apart. After the tragic death of his young wife, Marcello is convinced that he can never love another woman, although Dannette has slowly been working her way into his heart. Marcello is stunned when she tells him she can no longer hide in the shadows of his life and that they can't see each other anymore. Convinced he can change her mind, Dannette and Marcello are shocked to discover that Dannette is pregnant before he can begin his campaign to keep her in his life and bed. Now Marcello is determined to convince Dannette to be his wife. Dannette has no plans to marry Marcello, even if she is expecting his child, after all, his heart is buried with his wife and a marriage without love is no marriage at all, she believes. Can Marcello admit his true feelings for Dannette and even more importantly, convince her of them?

YES! I loved this story! I have to admit to that I was little leery of this second Royal Brides book by Lucy Monroe because I really didn't care for the hero in her first book, The Prince's Virgin Wife (Harlequin Presents #2535). But, Lucy Monroe delivers with His Royal Love-Child! Marcello is everything that I've come to love in Lucy Monroe's heroes! The passion smolders between Dannette and Marcello while the emotion leaps from the pages. Add to this, the hints for the upcoming story for Claudio and Therese, and His Royal Love-Child is a most welcome addition to my keeper shelf!

5.0 out of 5 stars A delightful story, June 7, 2006

His Royal Love Child is another moving book in Lucy Monroe's Royal Brides Series.

When Danette Michaels started seeing Prince Marcello Scorsolini she knew it had to be in secret. Since they both work together and because the prince was fodder for the gossip rags.

Prince Marcello remembers the press making his late wife's life hell when they didn't produce an heir. Plus he now knew his chances of getting a woman with child were slim. So he was shocked when Danette turns up pregnant.

Danette is no longer willing to be Marcello's little secret. She wants to tell the world but she won't accept his marriage proposal until she has his love. But Marcello is afraid to put his heart on the line again.

Can these two headstrong people realize their hearts desire?

His Royal Love Child is another exceptional book by Lucy Monroe. The sexual tension between them scorches every page. Watching them work through their problems to find an abiding love is what every romance book should be.

5.0 out of 5 stars This one is a keeper!, June 24, 2006

Prince Marcello Scorsolini is convinced of two things, he could never love another woman after his dead wife, and he can not father a child. Guess what? He is wrong on both.

Marcello broke an important rule dating his employee Danette Michaels; they have had a secret affair, and Danette grew tired of this. Marcello is not ready to make the relationship public, for he is trying to protect them both from the press.

Danette can't stand the secrecy anymore, and she ends the relationship with Marcello. At the following day, just when he is ready to get her back, news broke: the impossible has happened, Danette is pregnant, and now Marcello has more reasons to get Danette back in his life. She is just not willing to make it easy for him.

Take the pleasure to read this story, you will find wonderful heroes, specially for a heroine who knows what she wants in her life and won'nt bargain for less. Marcello is every woman's dream of a prince come true.

I strongly recommend it!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Keeper!, July 20, 2006
This review is from: His Royal Love-Child (Harlequin Presents) (Mass Market Paperback)
"His Royal Love-Child" is my favourite book in the Scorsolini trilogy next to the "Scorsolini Marriage Bargain." Danette Michaels is an average working girl, who cautiously enters into an affair with her hot prince of a boss. Neither Danette or Marcello believe that the relationship is long-term. Danette has been burned by love, and Marcello has previously been married. Sporadic dates, however, effectively turn into much, much more . . . Danette and Marcello's relationship is interesting and compelling, which makes this book a page-turner and a keeper! For me, another selling point about this book is that buyers can purchaser it in digital form and read it immediately.

First of all, this was a good book worth reading. But just to warn you, they talk and talk and talk their problems out. I know that makes a healthy relationship, it just got a little tedious after a while. If you want an emotional scorcher, read the next book in the series, The Scorsolini Marriage Bargain.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Passionate Love Story Guaranteed to Take Your Breath Away!, April 25, 2006

If you read Lucy Monroe's Wedding Vow of Revenge you were first introduced to Danette Michael's (Tara's friend and co-worker). Danette falls under the spell of Ray who uses their relationship to further his career. He betrays Danette and Tara by taking photos in hopes of furthering his career as a reporter.

Danette accepts an offer from Angelo her former employer to move to Italy and goes to work at Scorsolini Shipping. She falls in love with the owner; Prince Marcello Scorsolini has a secret affair and becomes pregnant. Danette is tired of their relationship being a secret one and wants their relationship to go public. Marcello, on the other hand wants secrecy so that his lover won't be hurt by the press. He knows first hand what the press can do.....the press published his sterility during his first marriage all over the tabloids. When he finds out that Danette is pregnant with his child he is ecstatic and wants marry immediately. From that moment on, Danette is unsure of their relationship, everything is moving too fast and she wants LOVE from him and doesn't feel she can have it as Marcello still lives and mourns the loss of his first wife. Theirs is a turbulent love story and a sweet ending.

What I found so amazing about this particular book was how the author used two medical issues, sterility and a genetic spinal deformity and created such an incredibly sweet love story. This author uses these two factors plus their uncertainty of each other and what they both define as love and weaves wonderful tale.

I loved Danette's spunk and "zippy" personality. I also felt her pain when she thought Marcello only wanted to marry her because of the baby. This couple both learn many lessons about love. They both learn "love shouldn't be selfish and it shouldn't hold back out of self-protection. Love shouldn't make a woman a doormat, but it should make her strong enough to take risks she wouldn't otherwise take."

Monroe's alpha male Marcello Scorsolini is proud and passionate and will take your breath away. She also incorporates the other family members into this storyline, the King, his x-wife Marcello's mother Flavia plus his two brother's and their wives. This book only sparks the reader's interest to "crave" more. I can't wait for Claudio and Therese's story in the next book in the series.

Again, Lucy Monroe has written not just an incredible book and an incredible series for her readers and fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Story, July 17, 2007
This review is from: His Royal Love-Child (Harlequin Presents) (Mass Market Paperback)
Dannette Michaels is in love with Prince Marcello Scorsolini whom she has been seeing secretly but realizes she can't live in the shadows anymore. She wants to date him openly or end their relationship. Prince Marcello has vowed never to open his heart to anyone since the loss of his wife. This was a wonderfully written story with a wonderful hero and heroine. I could feel their love and chemstry. The way Marcello struggled with his feelings for Dannette while at the same time he doesn't want to get hurt again. The way Dannette knows she's in love with Marcello and wants to be with him but knows she can't contiune their relationship in secret even thought it may cost her Marcello. When Dannette learns she's pregnant Marcello wants to marry her for the sake of the baby but of course Dannette knows she can't say yes to that. I loved this story and the way it was woven the ending was wonderful.
