What a saver and winner,

The product was exactly what I needed. I use my voice amplifer when I am teaching water classes. I have seen a similiar amplifier (for about 150) that was much more expensive. This product is just what I needed especially for the price. It even came with the recharargeable batteries and an extra microphone that you can clip on to your shirt..When you use the product don't put the volume all the way up

I'm a teacher; this saved my job,

I'm a 61 year old high school teacher. I have always had problems losing my voice maybe once a year, but last spring it had become every couple of months. I thought of retiring early or even asking about getting disability. But at the beginning of this school year I bought the HS125. I now talk all day in a soft voice, and let the rechargable batteries boost my voice to a shout. I have not lost my voice since buying this gadget, and I don't even get raspy. It has saved my career.
The only reason I didn't rate it five-star is that the headset gets uncomfortable (pinches my ears) after a few hours. Small price to pay!

I was looking for a product for indoor use of public speaking for elderly people who need not speak up taking the strain. I had tough time fitting the "AA" size batteries into the battery comparment. Out of 6 slots, only 2 of them take them easily. Rest of them, I couldn't even succeed forcing the batteries in, even with the risk of breaking the instrument. The customer support (Kaito Electronics), when called, says this is a known issue and did not offer any help other than saying that I should try hard(er) forcing the batteries in. I finally succeeded with one of the battery brand from India (which is where I gifted this product) and usage of bigger horse power to push them in. The instrument does what it says it does for now. If possible try to find higher quality products.

Squealed like a stuck pig,

After reading these reviews, I ordered this amplifier with full confidence that it will simply increase the volume of my voice so that I would not have to yell. My intention was to use it in a small group conference setting to give a short-speech.
This unit never left the kitchen table. Once I inserted the easy-to-place batteries in the unit and turned it on, it emitted a high pitched squeal. I realized that I must have set it up at too high a volume, so I reset it to a lower volume and proceeded to practice where my lips needed to be in relation to the microphone. The mics needed to be about an inch from the mic. I called tech support to discuss this issue and immediately got someone on the phone -- great service! He explained about the headset being one direction and how the two little holes needed to be facing the lips. Also, that the lapel mic was all-directions. After hanging up, I again found to my dismay that both mics needed to be one inch from my lips and were picking up every sigh or breath I made or risk the high-pitched squeal... and how could I keep the lapel mike that close to my mouth when my lapel is at least four inches away-- yikes! I called tech support again and sent this unit back. $10 bucks delivery to me and $10 bucks delivery back to them. A $20 mistake even if after receiving my refund.

I was very satisfied with the product and it has certainly saved my vocal chords a lot of work. I lecture labs and once the activities start, the students make a reasonable amount of noise and now with this amplifier I can give instructions in little more than a whisper. The lapel mike works poorly as a previous review has mentioned but with the headphone mike in place, I can talk and talk and talk! The rechargeable batteries last remarkably well. The straps do not shorten enough (my waist is 31) but I hitch them over my cellphone. Worth the money spent on the whole.
This is an update- after 14 months the mouthpiece snapped as I was twisting it into place to place over my mouth. It is made of plastic and needs to be handled with care. So I called Hisonics and got another mike for $10 and this seems more durable as it is made of a flexible metal coil.

Works fine, but it is a hassle,

I bought this product to help me teach a kickboxing class at my college; however, the band that it came with is too big to fit snugly around my waist--even after tightening, even after having other people inspect it it just will not tighten enough--and I'm not even that tiny (waist size 30 inches). Yes, I can get it on, and if I am relatively sedentary I can get it to stay in place, but standing in place would defeat the purpose of teaching a gym class.
All in all, the product works well, but you'll have to find another belt (I haven't yet) to hold it. Justin P.S. If you do buy this product, one of the reviews warned about a high-pitched screech: the best way to avoid that sound is to 1) make sure that the mic and the amplifier are more than a foot or 2 apart when the machine is on and 2) turn the volume up gradually, not in one big dial swing.

Teacher & Singer Needed the HELP!,

I teach middle school and I sing on the weekends for weddings and church services. Needless to say, my voice never gets much rest. Purchasing this voice amplification system has SAVED my voice! I no longer have to use a loud volume when teaching my classes during the week. I can use the system to speak in a much more calm voice with lower volume so I'm not stressing out my vocal chords. It's made a big difference already in just the first week of using it!

The Hisonic Waistband Voice & Speech Amplifier arrived two weeks after ordering, as advertised. It comes with headset microphone, collar-clip microphone, amplifier, strap and 6 re-chargeable AAA batteries.
First, the good: the headset microphone works very well. The microphone "stem" is very flexible, yet stays in place. It amplified my whispering voice to an audible volume from up to 20 feet away. Now, the bad: the amplifier, with 6 batteries in it is very heavy. I wear a Blackberry on my waist already, so putting this on my waist made me look and feel like I was wearing a utility belt. In addition, the waist belt that comes with it is very large: adjusting it to the smallest circumference, it was still way bigger than my 29 inch waist. The "loop" that it hangs with on that belt is too small to fit a standard belt, so there are limited alternate options. The headset is not adjustable and seemed to move around on my head. I returned it.

It does work but if you need to use it with a higher volume (like my daughter due to her inability to have a loud voice - she has spinal muscular atrophy) than there is a lot of statics.

I bought this mic and amp set to use in the classroom about two years ago. I teach elementary general music and chorus classes, so I use my voice all day and all week. This set has been great for saving my voice and keeping my kids attention. I've also used it for professional workshop demonstrations in large spaces so people could hear me better, even though the room wasn't great acoustically. I mostly use the lapel mic, as the the headset mic is really uncomfortable. I could easily plug in another headset/mic combo, but just haven't bothered to do so yet. The rechargable batteries have worked great so far AND the amp seems to last an incredibly long time before I need to recharge it. I would highly recommend this product!Hisonic Waistband Voice & Speech Amplifier, HS125
