Product Description

Size: 30 Capsules

Histame is the first product worldwide that decreases histamine levels that cause food intolerance by replenishing the body's digestive enzyme Diamine Oxidase (DAO). This clinically shown dietary supplement regulates histamine levels in the body, unlike antihistamines, which only block the histamine.

Over the years, starting with premenopause, I started developing symptoms that did not seem to be related to each other. Initially I developed worse and worse insomnia. My heart developed palpitations. I would flush badly with food and drink. My eyes were often red. My neck developed what seemed like a permanent muscle spasm. Finally--what caused me to go searching for a solution--I developed a skin rash on around one eye and all over my neck. Lovely! One Easter our family went to a lovely buffet at which I ate anything I wanted--smoked salmon, macaroni and cheese, oysters, salad with a vinegar dressing, wine etc. etc. On the way home my heart went nuts, to a scarey degree. My plan was to go to the doctor the next day. In the mean time I entered all my symptoms in my brower search box and the "American Journal of Clinical Nutrition's" article called "Histamine Intolerance" showed up. I was worried about my heart, but found out that all my other symptoms were also likely caused by the same source. I was devastated to find that the answer was to eat a low-histamine diet. That doesn't leave much in the way of choices. Then, I tripped on Histame and immediately ordered it. My life is so much better now!! Haven't felt this good in years. No heart palps, no rash, and I SLEEP!!!! It turns out the our bodies use histamine to be awake, and other chemicals to be asleep. So too much histamine was causing my inability to sleep. Not anymore. Yay!!!!!!!!!

I've only tried this product for about a week now, but it seems to make a real difference in problems that have plagued me for over 30 years - I only figured out the last few years that I felt so lousy because of certain foods, and cutting out some of the highest-histamine foods has tremendously helped, but also been a bit hit-and-miss b/c I didn't know that what I was shooting for was eliminating as much high-histamine food as possible. And since I have no allergies (technically), none of it really made any sense (my family has been pretty "intolerant" of my intolerances at times since there was no science to back them up). Anyway, this supplement seems to help quite a bit, like taking an antihistamine but much better (and not sleep-inducing either).

I'm pretty sure at this point that I have a bad case of Histamine Intolerance (which I get from food) and this enzyme seems to be part of the solution.

People say it's expensive, but compare it to the cost of a pharmaceutical product - $50-100/mo. to be well from a nasty problem is a bargain to me.

Hope it helps for some other folks.

I can eat, not all foods, but many more without feeling nauseous. I can take digestive enzymes and herbals now, also. I feel so much better day-to-day. I have more choices of foods to eat when dining out.

Update: When my naturopath treated me for intestinal yeast and a parasite, I no longer needed Histame which had been my "must always have" and "pay anything for" supplement.

This works but i need 3-4 pills for 2 slices of pizza, making it quite expensive. I use this if i have to eat out and can't avoid offending foods.

The root causes of lowered dao appears to be lack of co-factors needed to produce it or a genetic condition that results in undermethylation and histamine accumulation that can't be broken down by the dao body is producing.

Certain foods are making me itch. I read that too much histamine may be the cause. Maybe my body doesn't produce enough enzyme that breaks down the histamine. As an experiment to myself, I started taking this enzyme, and I have noticed a great improvement.

I tried this product with guarded optimism after tracing my headaches and facial rashes through elimination diet to foods high in salicylate, histamine, and amines. Genny Masterman notes in What Hit Me that there is no research on long-term use of this product, though it has the potential to function for people in the way that insulin does for diabetics. The information that I have found online says to take within 15 minutes of eating offending foods. So far I have used it sparingly and kept to a primarily low histamine/amine diet--cost prohibits me from attempting a more aggressive use with this pill. So far it is quite effective against oranges, almonds, flavored coffees, and seems to have resulted and general improvement in inflammatory symptoms on the days when I take it. I will likely continue using it sparingly but step up use when I travel so that I can eat freely at conferences where I don't have tight control over food preparation.

I find that it works best for me on an empty stomach. I take two in the morning before breakfast and one again before lunch. My nose is usually either mostly or entirely stuffed up all the time. I've been taking Zyrtec daily for years. My allergies seem to be bad year round. The first bottle went fast because I took three at a time. It didn't just clear up my nose but the inflamed, puffy look left my face. I hope that the pharm industry can pick up on this cure so that I can get something stronger that would possibly be covered by insurance. This stuff has the potential to be an amazing drug. Both my grandmother and mom have carried tissues around with them everywhere, and once I hit my twenties, so did I. This stuff has the potential to transform that legacy. If I ever get rich, I'll buy a whole case of the stuff!
