Wonderful old time recipes, plus lots of fascinating trivia and lore about the eras covered by the four books. Particularly interesting because of the many possibilities for quick, easy and fun 'theme' parties....Oregon Trail Dinners....Civil War re-enactments, Gold Rush parties or a Colonial Thanksgiving. I'd give it a five-star rating because, not only of the authentic recipes, but also for the possibilities as mentioned above.
