This book will be a disappointment to a serious researcher of the Spanish American War. It does not come close to the Civil War and American Revolution encyclopedias by Mark M. Boatner III. Most of the inforamtion is extracted from differents books on the war instead of original work. Only the most notable generals have bios, thus lacking bios on regiment commanders. The book is helpfull to someone doing elementry research on the war, but much the information can be gotten from notable books on the war. This book does not warrant the $125 price tag. Buyer beware.
