Good Foundation and History of 447th Bomb Group,
By Matthew Guenther (Washington USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: History: 447th Bomb Group (Hardcover)
This is a good historical account of the 447th Bomb Group, its missions, and personel. It offers a very complete mission by mission account of the activities of the 447th from its formation through the end of the war. There are some pictures and personal accounts as well as contextual history pieces. There are a few Typo's (probably due to copying from hand written original documents). Well worth the money to have all of this information in ONE place.

447th through my eyes,

This review is from: History: 447th Bomb Group (Hardcover)
Doyle Shields has written a very good account of the 447th bomb group, but there are some problems like; a mission listing that has the same crews flying top, middle, and low groups, or the misspelling of crew members names. With the fact we are loosing these vets at the rate of 1000 per day I still recommend this book to anyone interested in history or like myself, my father was a gunner with this group
