If you love clocks, or would just enjoy a peek into the early 19th century, you will enjoy this book. Chauncey Jerome was a major player in the early days of Amercian clock making and knew most of the other early players. He led a roller coaster life from poverty to wealth and (with the "help" of P.T. Barnum) back to poverty. It is an easy read written in a conversational voice--well worth the few hours it will take to read through it.
