This review is from: A History of Anheuser-Busch, 1852-1933 (Companies and men) (Hardcover)
In 1969, Ronald Jan Plavchan presented his Master's Thesis to the faculty of St. Louis University in pursuit of a doctoral degree. His subject was the early history of Anheuser-Busch. The intensive nature of his research and the insight with which he examined the company's early years lead to publication of the work by Arno Press's well-respected Business Enterprise In America series, in its original manuscript format. The book was reprinted yet again in the 1990s by Ayer Publishing. To this day, Plavchan's "History of Anheuser-Busch, 1852-1933" remains the most detailed look at the brewery's earliest history. The volume includes footnotes, bibliographic information, and a series of appendices showing annual A-B beer sales, list of A-B presidents, etc. This book will be most enjoyed by the serious A-B enthusiast.
