I had never seen anything written by the Wright Brothers before, so that was really interesting. The rest of the book covers developments in Europe -- even though the airplane was invented in the US, most of the practical work was done after that in England and France. I found the part about the early balloonists who flew before the Wright Brothers to be very interesting, as there doesn't seem to be much written about them. It also covers early aviators like Bleriot and Santos Dumont.

The first three articles by Orville and Wilbur Wright were very good. Written by the two people on earth that really knew what they were doing.
The last section by Claxton, regretably taking up most of the book, primarily deals with the history of aviation in England before and during WWI. Unfortunately, this section was of limited interest to me.

After the Napster fiasco anything with original Wright facts rather than Curtiss finesse helps to avoid the dark shadow of copying.
