Comprehensive Textbook,
By Michelle M James (Arizona (USA)) - See all my reviews
This review is from: History of Education in America (7th Edition) (Textbook Binding)
This book is about the basic history of American Education, from the Revolution to Modern Times. Chapters are broken down into time periods, many charts, graphs, timelines available. Critical Analysis sections, end-of chapter questions, and bibliographies for each chapter are very helpful! this book is great for a Foundations of Education course.

History of Education,

I thought this book was an excellent combination of information and facts. Not only was it easy to find the information you wanted but it was also very interesting, unlike many of these kinds of books. I think it is an excellent rescource for any teacher or person wanting to know about education and how we got where we are.

I was taking a class on this for college and I really liked this book. I was able to understand it clearly while reading it. It truly made me understand the History of Education, I would recommend getting this book instead of the e-book cause I couldn't put it down for a min.

Book review,

There was no text assigned for my History & Philosophy of Educ. class, just a bunch of books on reserve in the library for us to utilize to write our essays. This book (7th Ed.) was by far the most resourceful, covering the Colonial Period right up to the present. It has so much information relevant to education but also what was going on during each time period so that you get a better understanding of why these movements in education occured. After each chapter is a "Then & Now" where they tie in for isntance how aspects of education in the 1600's are still prominent in today's education system. It's a great book and definatly interesting, I just wanted to be able to sit down and read it cover to cover.

Buying books for school so I thought I'd come here. The ad said the book would be in good shape. Since I have bought many books on Amazon before I thought it would be in the condition it was advertised as...but the sellers definition of "good condition" is not the same as it is defined at Amazon. It was in bad shape. The binding was still in good shape but the pages had many creases and so did the cover. It had markings on pages as well....poor quality!

The wrong Book,

This review is from: History of Education in America (8th Edition) (Paperback)
I actually ordered the nineth edition and got the eight instead. I have been able to make it work although I have had to have other students give me some of the homework assignments because the version I have doesn't have "focusing on the issues" and the pages are different and the info is outdated. Hopefully next time I order throught here I will recieve the right one. Other then that, it came on time and was easy to order.
