First the positive.
If you are a homeschooler looking to add to your curriculum in art appreciation or in art; this is a great resource. This is particularly true if you are not an artist yourself and need some extra help trying to explain color, perspective, and so on.
There are a lot of art lessons and a lot of sample drawings from other students with a wide range of abilities and ages included in this book. The students' artwork is very encouraging because my children can look at it and get an idea of where they fall in ability.
It also comes with postcards so that you can show students art and examples of what you are talking about easily. They are in color and are a great suppliment to the text.

Second, the not so positive.
It does not come with enough postcards.I have supplimented this with my own art postcards I have had from "Mommy, It's a Renoir" program. You can easily get books of postcards displaying art. I would plan on supplimenting.
I say this because all of the drawings and examples in this book are in black and white and oftentimes very small. Much of the detail and much of the impact from great art is lost in the shrinking it and turning it to black and white.

Overall, this is a great program. It just needs some extra help in the examples you show your kids every so often.

Enjoy.

This is a great curriculum! As an art teacher at a Classical Christian school, I've been looking for art lessons and units that are based on Christian principles. This series is unlike any other I've bought and really helped me build a great K-6 curriculum!
