Elijah Muhammad (1897-1975; born as Elijah Robert Poole) led the Nation of Islam from 1934 until his death.

Here are some quotations from the book:

"I was born in Georgia, went to public school in Georgia and was never out of the state of Georgia, until I was 25 years of age. I married and had two children and moved to Detroit in April, 1923, from Macon, Georgia, where I worked for the Southern Railroad Company... I never was arrested and served no jail terms on any charge or charges until 1934." (Pg. 35)
"This I want to make clear to them and those who believe in the spirit being God and not Man. The Main base of it all is to show forth who's God. He's not who they thought He was. He's in man and man is God." (Pg. 42)
"Master Fard Muhammad, he was part white. He was." (Pg. 44)
"...the chief seekers and teachers of such evil of intermixing the blood of their own race to destroy them from being a people. Do you permit such disgrace upon your own nation of intermixing and intermarrying? We see it is absolutely the ignorance of the leadership." (Pg. 89)
"The so-called Negroes have come to love this, because for a few dollars paid to him for working and he takes it and spends it for whiskey and beer, ball games, sports of all kind. He wastes his money that he earns." (Pg. 114)
"This black-mouthed monkey, and his nasty characteristics are similar to who he's from and that's the Whiteman. He has thin lips. Look at them straight in the face... They know they are from the monkey." (Pg. 156-157)

THE HONORABLE ELIJAH MUHAMMAD GUIDED THE DEAF, DUMB, AND BLIND WITH WORDS OF POWER. HIS MESSAGES AND TEACHINGS LET'S YOU KNOW THAT THE GOD(ALLAH) WAS GUIDING HIM TO A PROSPEROUS LIFE AND A PURPOSE. HIS PURPOSE WAS TO GIVE LIFE TO THE DEAD BOTH MENTALLY AND SPIRITUALLY. INDEED, THE HONORABLE ELIJAH MUHAMMAD'S SPIRIT LIVES ON...PEACE!

Elijah Muhammed is both arrogant and gravely misinterpretting God's word. Muhammed was the final messanger of God, and Elijah is calling himself a messanger of God, so I would not hesitate to classify him as outside the Islamic Faith. God's servants must return to the pure teachings of the Qur'an.
