Very Repetative,

This review is from: History of Female Vocal Trance (Audio CD)
A lot of the songs on here are very, very repetative and electronic sounding. Also, there aren't even a lot of vocals on some of the tracks for this to be a vocal trance album. I wasn't very impressed. Music like this is what makes people dislike the music style altogether.

An excellent compilation of first rate tracks - you get a sampling of vocal trance tracks, Hi-NRG pop and Hi-NRG trance tracks. All solid choices - no hidden gems or athemns but still all around excellent.

While I provided a 5 star rave review for another album of female vocal trance, I express serious reservations about this 3 CD compilation. CD 1 is the sort of techno trance that makes my friends wonder if I have lost my mind when I tell them I love SOME techno music. Though it seems to be mostly German in origin, the very variety I love best, the first CD lacks vision, energy, and soul. The liner notes attest that this is supposed to comprise all different groups, yet the singer sounds like the same voice throughout. History? Hah! I would wager it all was composed in the same studio by the same single female singer accompanied by the same single male musician at his same single electronic keyboard, with multiple tracks dubbed over and over. This is music composed as though by a computer, and gives techno the bad name that my friends think it deserves. CD 2 is slightly better, meaning two tracks shine, while the rest should sink back into the black hole from which they came. But then, but then, CD 3, hurrah. CD 3 makes me sing and dance, and is worth the price of the whole 3 CD set, which after all is nominal. So trash the first 2 CDs, think of yourself as having purchased just 1 CD, and you'll be happy with this collection.
