If you are looking for an intense literary review of specific Gothic pieces from the early 1700's on, this is great. If you are looking for something light and easy to read that tells the history of Gothic lit with examples and interest, this is NOT for you. This is very scholarly and requires a lot of attention to get through. But it is very insightful and thorough in the information that it gives.
