Excellent resource does what the publishers claim
This CD ROM is a good and well rounded resource and introduction to the highland clans based on the original document by McIan with many additional texts giving a rare insight into clan structure, life,conditions,environment. Those wishing a more comprehensive guide should encourage the publishers to bring one out,rather than criticise them I'm sure they would do so...

Not worth the price
The cd was not worth the price for the information it provided, and the maps were ILLEGIBLE. If you want something informative on clan history, try "Highlanders : A History of the Scottish Clans" by Fitzroy MacLean. It gives almost exactly the same information plus a lot more history and vignettes on specific clan figures.

The cd was not worth the price for the information it provided, and the maps were ILLEGIBLE. If you want something informative on clan history, try "Highlanders : A History of the Scottish Clans" by Fitzroy MacLean. This CD contains a 58 meg MacroMedia presentation that gives very cursory information on the history of Scottish Clans. The information presented is scanty, not all of the major clans are covered, and the 'pictures' section is very small containing very little of interest.Buy a good reference book on Highland Clans if you have any interest at all in the subject. This CD will not satisfy you.

I thought History of the Highland Clans was a well balanced presentation giving me all the information necessary including some very detailed texts. I wasnt sure what to expect but It is an invaluable resource and I look forward to more from the publisher

This Cd gave me just the information I was looking for plus a whole lot more. As it states its a history of the Highland Clans only, based on a previous victorian book I think. But it gives you a lot more information about the early scots and picts even and there way of life
