I may be slightly biased as my own Gretsch Chet Atkins "Nashville" features in a few photos in this book, but even so I am astounded at the depth of knowledge Ed Ball has brought to this fine book. There is love and passion for his subject from page one, with little-known facts brought to the surface, a broad history of Fred Gretsch Jr, a decade-by-decade investigation of upgrades and changes to the marque, a look at the famous guitarists who have played it - including, of course, Chet Atkins - and many, many beautiful photographs of what must be one of the most beautiful guitars ever designed.

If you love guitars, you'll love thisbook.

What a beautifully done book about one of the most recognized guitars in Rock n' Roll history. THE GRETSCH 6120. I am a 6120 owner and this book is a phenominal companion to the guitar. The history of the guitar is well detailed and the photo's are beautiful. If you're a Gretsch owner you already know what I'm talking about. This one is not to be missed. WELL DONE!!!!

As a Gretsch fan from afar, Gretsch 6120 was recommended to me. Since receiving this great book, I now know the history of the full Gretsch line of Guitars. Ed Ball's attention to detail has enabled me to feel confident to purchase a vintage Gretsch or two, since I now know what to look for. Believe me, this book saved me some $$ with the depth of information. To be able to go to each specific batch of 6120's produced during the Golden Years is a tremendous resource. I am devouring it word-by-word to fully appreciate the amount of important info. If you are a vintage Gretsch guitar geek, BUY THIS BOOK!
