Editorial Reviews

This documentary presents the history of the glorified A.I.Mikoyan's aircraft designing bureau. Mikoyan's planes have been the basis of Russian and Soviet Air Force for more than half a century: from MIG-1 to a hypersound MIG-31. Unique archival videodocuments of operations in Korea and Vietnam are used. The advanced fighter designs by Artyom Mikoyan have supplied the backbone of the Soviet Air Force since World War II whem the MiG-1 started a dynasty that would continue into the jet age. The MiG-15 fought against Sabres in the first jet war over Korea while the MiG-21 duelled with Phantoms in the sky of Vietmnam. All this and mroe including the newest MiG - the hypersonic interseptor MiG-31 - is featured in this comprehensive story of a world aviation legend. About the author: Arkady Yakovlevich Aizenberg.
