5.0 out of 5 stars The best historic work on ancient Greek Macedonia., March 2, 2009
This review is from: A History of Macedonia: Volume III: 336-167 B.C. (Hardcover)
N. G. L. Hammond was the leading authority in the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedonia. Tutor at Clare College, Cambridge. He was elected a member of the British Academy in 1968. He was also editor and contributor to various volumes of the Cambridge Ancient History and the second edition of the Oxford Classical Dictionary. His work on ancient Macedon is enormous. Based on solid archaeological evidence, he gives a clear and detailed description of this ancient Greek kingdom. A must buy for everyone who wants to study the specific period.
