Home Run Kings, December 9, 2003
A Kid's Review
This review is from: History Makers - Home-Run Kings (Hardcover)
This book is about baseball stars. It mainly tells about the baseball players that are famous for home runs. It tells us about people that made history in baseball. Baseball is a very
old game. Even Abraham Lincoln played baseball. The game started from British games like Cricket and Rounders. The city that developed baseball was New York City. The first bases were stakes. They became sand-filled sacks in 1840. The Cincinnati Red Stockings were the first real baseball team. The Blacks were not allowed to play on the White teams at the first. Jackie Robinson was the first Black player to play on the White teams. He played for the Dodgers. George Herman Ruth, Jr., better known as Babe Ruth, was the home run king. Some other home run kings were Roger Maris, Hank Aaron, Mark McGwire, and Sammy Sosa. I am sure there will be many more people to break the records in baseball.
