This review is from: History of Management Thought (Paperback)
Tends to ignore known contradictions, known weaknesses, and known pitfalls in Management Thought.

Still, this is the original book on The History of Management Thought and still holds its own in providing a concise reference to the origin and source for many of the actual values and actual beliefs in business today. Whether those values and beliefs are useful or useless is not really covered here, coverage only ensures that these values and beliefs had significant influence: early on the influence was directly on industry, later on the influence was more on academics and then indirectly through students who have been educated in various schools of thought (e.g., Mayo).

Missing is the mention of contributions by Herbert Simon and other social business philosophers whose ideas have since proven themselves quite useful.
