This review is from: A History of Mountain Climbing (Hardcover)
If one is interesting about the history of the mountaineering from the very beginning to the 90s - buying this book is a must! The reader can follow the improvement of the technic, the philosophy, lookup for the climbing history of the particular mountain ranges. The Annex helps to navigate among the hundreds of big names; the "100 key dates" and the "top 50 mountaineers" sections give an overview about the main figures and achievements of the mountaineering. This book is a very good reference, if you need only a data, but also a good reading, and a photo gallery wherever you open it.
