Editorial Reviews

Product Description

Sabbat were easily the most original and innovative British thrash metal band of their time. Instead of following the standard thrash formula, Sabbat derived inspiration from old pagan legends and folklores which helped to create some unique imagery and feel in their music. The band's debut release "History Of A Time To Come" was already a strong demonstration of this style, thrash metal with a very distinctive sound and feel. This remastered and repackaged lost classic thrash from the UK’s Pagan-Metal originators includes bonus live material recorded in Berlin during 1990.

5.0 out of 5 stars All Time Classic, March 15, 2007
Definately shocked when I heard that they were going to re-release this album along with "Dreamweaver" repackaged and remastered. . The production is definately better and as I said on my review on "Dreamweaver" the live track production is not the greatest it's still nice to have. This is worth having even if you own the original version.

4.0 out of 5 stars unique style of 80's thrash , March 6, 2006
By Thomas P. Ault (mercer,PA USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
The main focus of this album for me is the unique style of vocals. Martin Walkyier is one of my favorite song writers. This is Sabbat's first album. It is hard to describe his vocals, you'll have to check out for your self. The only way I can describe them is very rhythmic. He sang on their second album "Dreamweaver" which I prefer over "History..". They did at least one more album without Martin,Mourning has Broken, but being a fan of Martin I did not like it. They were different for the times. All in all I really like this album(History of a Time to Come). After leaving Sabbat Martin formed the band Skyclad. The words are more positive and poetic than Sabbat and the music is Folk/metal. I really recommend Skyclad too along with Sabbat. The music is good and if you are a fan of the 80's Thrash Metal you need this. The production is a little raw but it is worth it. buy it!

5.0 out of 5 stars Supreme British Thrash!, March 27, 2003
By MtlGod (Boynton Beach, Florida United States) - See all my reviews
It's a shame that this album is so tough to find, because this is a true gem. Technical, precise British thrash metal meets razor-sharp vocals delivered with pure conviction. Brilliant songwriting... If you can find this one like I did, you MUST pick it up. Anyone who appreciates the fine art of thrash/speed metal will savor it for a time to come...
