are you serious?,

I gave two stars for the fact that these tracks are trance classics. They are dance floor stormers. They bring me back to great times and these tracks are timeless. I negged the other three stars because there are, literally, HUNDREDS of CD compilations that have been made in the past few years with ALL of these same tracks. This is simply another record company capitalizing on the past. Don't be a sucker, this CD is for newbies.

A history of trance,

I haven't been a George Acosta fan for a long time, maybe a couple of years now. I decided to check him out two years ago based on a review of George's 2002 album "Next Level" by one of my amazon buddies. I was immediately hooked. George reminded me of early Paul Oakenfold (before "Bunkka") and a bit of Paul Van Dyk. His choices in songs were great. 2003's "Touched" really took George to the next plateau in trance music I thought. Although there were some break beats through out the songs, I thought George maintained his trance roots while he expanded his horizons. Today I picked up his collection of the hottest trance songs in music of the past decade. As tired as I am of the DJ Tiesto's remix of Delerium's "Silence", the overall quality of the compilation is solid. George really covers the biggest trance songs in the past ten years. All the songs are great, even the tiresome "Silence". I especially fell in love with Lustral's "Everytime". The ethereal female vocals and heavenly, addictive melodies is what made me become a big trance junkie. This is what dance music is and should be about. "The History of Trance" really does a good job of covering trance's biggest hits in the past ten years, like the smash "Children" by Robert Miles and Sasha's "Xpander". With Paul Oakenfold not having put out a consistent album since "Perfecto Presents Another World", George Acosta has definitely risen to the ranks as one of the few trance djs that I still love (next to Sandra Collins, DJ Tiesto, and Paul Van Dyk). If you love trance, this is the cd to get. George Acosta does an amazing job of making the songs flow cohesively together.

This is a good compilation of Trance classics BUT........George, what the HELLLLLL is Jon F'N Secada DOING ON THIS CD ???? Oh my god...
George...George...George...you LOST A LOT of dj street cred by including Jon "sugar pop latin bile" on your otherwise good CD. WOW. REALLY?? I can only imagine that Jon is your boy. He deserves to be on this CD as much as Elvis. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.
