It's okay for a history book...,
By LLM (Philly, PA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: A History of World Societies: Volume B (Paperback)
I only bought this book because it was the required text for my History class at CCP. You couldn't really say it was a "hard" read, but I guess being as though it was "Volume B" I just felt like I was coming in on the middle of something. Every couple of paragraphs it would make references such as "see pg 234" or "see Chapter 11" when this book itself starts at page 347 and Chapter 12! It's enough to drive you a little nuts. So though the book itself isn't all that bad (some parts actually were quite catchy, and I'm not a history person), it's not designed to be a stand-alone book.
My only other complaint was that the book seemed to skip around time periods alot which was kind of confusing. But I guess since the book had to jump around the world, it kind of had to do that...so overall...three stars. |
