J. A. S. Grenville is Professor of Modern History, Emeritus, at the University of Birmingham, England. He is recognized internationally for his documentary television work and is the author of a number of books, including Europe Reshaped, 1848-1878, and Politics, Strategy, and American Diplomacy.
